Reckon I have an ok team, 6 guys who can do well on GC plus two for the harder sprints and Cavendish:

Froome
Porte
Mollema
Pinot
Talansky
Costa
Kristoff
Moser
Cavendish

I have to admit, I've selected and reselected my squad about 4 times now. I've managed to pull a team together for 96 points, and I think I'm settled on who's on it.

Can't say I'm going all out for the overall GC winners though, more aimed for stage results - like the way Evans scored big time in the Giro by getting points for jersey wearing day by day, and by just being up there in difficult mountain sprints etc.

No Sagan, Contador or Froome for me! Bold moves eh?

Think this is the first time in any fantasy sporting competition that I haven't felt the need to change the team after the first pick.

Would like to think it was uncharacteristic decisiveness on my part but suspect it means I just haven't thought about it enough!?

After lots of changes in the last couple of weeks, I believe I've reached my final squad at last. Really hard to put a good team together while including Froome. As mentioned earlier, they've really done a good job with the prices this year.

Christopher Froome
Alejandro Valverde
Jakob Fuglsang
Thibaut Pinot
Mark Cavendish
Romain Bardet
Andrey Amador
Adriano Malori
André Greipel

My team is very similar to yours Pelli.
7 same riders.

Just went with Sagan/Greipel instead of Greipel/Cavendish and with Veilleux instead of Amador.

There are some similar riders to others.

Pinot looks a really popular one at this stage.

The sprinters equation looks like the interesting one. Lots of mixtures between Kittel, Greipel, Cav and Sagan along with low level ones like Bouhanni, Goss and Kristoff.

He's in 30% of all teams, according to the site.

Clearly a very popular choice, but nowhere near Froome (53%) or Cavendish (52%).

So here is my team without Contador or Froome. It probably won't be anywhere near the top but it could be fun to watch - plenty of interesting riders here:

Alejandro Valverde - 14 points
Daniel Martin - 10 points
Joaquim Rodriguez - 18 points
Nairo Quintana - 14 points
Peter Sagan - 18 points
Julien Simon - 4 points
Tony Martin - 8 points
Romain Bardet - 4 points
Thibaut Pinot - 8 points
Total: 98 points

Simon is an absolute bargain by the way - it was Amador up until about 10 minutes ago but he will probably be working for others so won't be able to ride GC). And Bardet could also be a bit of a wildcard here and could get a bit of freedom to get in breakaways or ride for a decent GC position.

My Team:

Chris Froome - 26
Alejandro Valverde - 14
Jurgen Van den Broeck - 10
Thibaut Pinot - 8
Mark Cavendish - 18
Andrew Talansky - 8
Rui Costa - 6
Julien Simon - 4
Alexander Kristoff - 6

Overall I think it is a pretty strong team. VDB is really a bargain in my eyes, and I believe I have 3 top-5 contenders along with Valverde and Froome, who should take Yellow.

Talansky and Pinot are leading their respective teams as well, so a top-10 is possible for them. White is not out of the question either. Costa could also do well on his day and after Suisse he looks in good form.

Cav and Kristoff should do well enough in the sprints, and also Simon can contest the harder ones those two don't make.

Just looked at some of those %'s and I saw a few surprises.

Kittel 2.9%... Kristoff 2.6%... that seems quite low. I guess people don't see these guys consistently finishing high. I still think Kristoff is worth a punt as my wildcard.

I agree. Would've picked him instead of Fuglsang if I could've, but I didn't find any way to squeeze him into the 100 points limit without hurting another part of the team too much.

One can always dream that the move to Astana has done miracles to Fuglsang. Cool Either way, I think he'll do well on the easier mountain stages and okay in the TT. Should bring a few points from the individual stages.

Not a really great team, but might do something nice in the end. Pfft I tried to get vd Broeck in the team, but I'm not sure how he'll do, so I left him out. Bardet and Kristoff were some nice bargains, Bardet might be a very combative rider throughout the three weeks. The others, let's hope, especially for Talansky. Pfft
