Santambrogio doped? No way, he was so usual himself since the ealy season, not grabbing incredible results all the way since March.
Where are those miracles happen in nowadays clean cycling people now?
compare this season with last
2012 Vuelta, 58th
2012 Giro, 86th
now to a top 10, come on, that's a sky-like transformation, at a team like Vini-Fantini (who needed DiLuca's sponsorships just to field a squad)
i'm reserving doubts here
now before you bring up Majka, 32nd at the 2012 Vuelta, but did support Contador there, it's reasonable to assume that he could finish top 10 if he peaked for it, and had a team with that goal in mind

Vini Fantini will not ride Giro di Lombardy this year. Not more than normal, imo.

Was thinking more along the lines of Visconti myself. |

Been out a few days and not sure if anyone mentioned an apparent new method for EPO tests? https://inrng.tumblr.com/post/52126111...ee-meeting

I finally have some faith again in mankind along with the UCI
Brian Cookson on his candidacy for UCI president:
“We must restore cycling’s credibility,” Cookson said. “The first priority for the new UCI president must be to change the way that anti doping is managed so that people can have confidence in the sport. We must also urgently carry out a fully independent investigation into the allegations of corruption in this area which have so damaged the UCI’s reputation.
“I want to see a UCI whose culture and way of doing things is defined by openness, transparency, and a commitment to more collegiate decision making. We need to work for the good of cycling globally, and not protect vested interests, wherever they may lie. The best way we can achieve this is to be much more open on how we operate and make decisions.” |

It doesn't matter, McQuaid will win anyway. For these sorts of reasons:
https://inrng.com/...president/
Indeed incumbency has its advantages. McQuaid has been flying around the world to meet the members of the UCI Congress who get to cast votes to elect the President and is assidously using the UCI’s own newswires to promote his activities and nomination. I gather the last time an outsider ran, Sylvia Shenk in 2005, that she didn’t even get a list of the congress members whilst her rival McQuaid had been visiting, writing and calling the others in order to cultivate relationships and harvest votes.

True, the situation is f-ed up, but Cookson may not be so docile.
Being a director of Team Sky (not to mention already high up the UCI hierarchy), that means he has a vested interest in the sport already. If he speaks out like this, he must be serious. And if he gets thwarted by the efforts of McQuaid, as described in the Schenk case, then he definitely has the power to act on his stance: either internally in the UCI and the congress, with his own national federation, or through Team Sky.
Personally, I see the way in which Cookson is so seriously outspoken at the very least as a big signal to McQuaid: "Watch it buddy, if you start playing dirty I'll make your life hell" |

Glad to see Cookson taking it up after his pledge to take all the concerns in the wake of USADA seriously. This appears to be a genuine attempt at providing an alternative but like others above it's difficult to see any way past the foregone voting process. |

Ricco will give more names for cash. Especially of those who react on twoiter how disgusted they are.
He might still have some bloodbags from them in his fridge.
That's what I hate the most when a rider gets caught on doping. All the others from the peleton are suddenly saints that don't take anything. Probably more than half of them is being a very hypocrite.
Couldn't have said this better myself
EDIT: Wow, you should just read his other tweets as well. He just replies to those riders and calls them hypocrites. You should also see his twitter-background

Santambrogio just found Sky's revolutionary training schedules leaked through Puccio. Poor man. |

Except that Sky-riders don't get caught, they have a much more advanced "training schedule" than teams like Vini Fantini can dream of. |

That translates to "I want to do what's best for [insert sport/region/country I'm running for an office in]". It's what every candidate for everything says.
I don't see any solid claims for now. Further, I don't see anything McQuaid hasn't also said. Example: "I want to see more transparency" is all fine and dandy to say, but HOW is he planning to achieve that? WHAT exactly is he going to do to increase transparency?
If and when he mentions something specific I'll judge but for now he's indistinguishable from McQuaid.

McQuaid immediately starts his smear campaign: https://s4.skins.net/misc/NFs_Presiden...6_2013.pdf
Laughable how he keeps trying to claim the process is democratic.
