EBH is not a sprinter, him training to be a sprinter would be a waste. Same as he's targeting PR and cobbles - waste. He should target more hillier races.
Swift is similar to EBH, doesn't have the top speed. It was known from the start. However he showed great climbing skills in Mallorca ( tbf ages ago already at the U23 Worlds he showed it ) before getting in a crash, he could become quite a solid punchy rider with good/okay-ish sprint on him.
In terms of possessing pure sprint speed, Sky don't have anyone.
EBH is like Sagan, just a bit worse in every aspect. I doubt he will ever win a cobbled or hilly or sprinters monument, he is just perfect stage hunter and great teammate. But he can of course develop further into some specialized rider and thus win something bigger than G-W.

Time trials that aren't extremely short? Climbs that aren't extremely short?

True, i rather meant in those areas that are their main specialites, or where they compete with the best (hilly classics, sprinting, cobbles).
Also i think if Sagan would for whatever reason change his training and bodytype, he would be maybe stronger also on longer climbs than EBH, but that is just pure speculation. Look at last years July Sagan, how he performed at longer mountains in long range attacks (that is also speciality of EBH though).
Longer TTs are better for Eddie for sure, but does it matter for races where they want to suceed at these points of their careers? Sagan does not give a s*it about long TTs...

And EBH wins showing Meersman sucks Just kidding. Still shows he lacks top speed.
What a leadout by G though!

Bouhanni was coming fast but got blocked by Chavanel and Thomas.
Would have liked to see his end speed today. |

Couldn't watch it and I know there was a technical run in but a bit surprised that neither Viviani or Bouhani weren't top 3.

Van Rensburg with a nice speed in the end, he had a gap of like 5 bike lenghts to Bouhanni after the last corner.

Hey!
Hope he can take Green home, though, 2x 2nd and 1x 3rd is pretty consistent, probably most consistent here so far
And, to be honest, most consistent Belgian of the year |

EBH - G combo is indeed a good one. 2011 was their best year together and it seems we finally have them back
G doing Tour will be massive asset for EBH and Sky overall.

@Ian ok, but the most consistent Belgian rider of the moment overall is De Greef, you can't disagree on that with me. Look at his GT results

He's having a very good season, no doubt about that.
Being consistent in a mediocore sprinter field isn't that great, still he's doing very well so far in this race. Although when EBH beats you on flat finish this season, not a great sign
He's good, I quite like him but some comments earlier in this thread made him look like a god in those sprints

Yes indeed. Begs the question why was he leading out Kennaugh yesterday?! Has EBH been sick or some such :/

He was really fast before he got blocked, but once again showing his inability to position himself.

Bouhanni is very good at positioning himself. He has that fuck all the others-mentality. See Stage 1 of the Giro how he took Cav's wheel from Blythe
