It's strange though, Petacchi would join this year, but that's basically doing a transfer now, I didn't think that was possible...
If petacchi is a free rider, OPQS is allowed to offer him a contract for this year.
It's the same with Di Luca who goes to Vini Fantini

Will be interesting if they can make this happen.
NO! They are already good enough. It would be great if some good GT riders joins to Argos or some "bad" team. Small chances, indeed. I want some fair-play cycling (imagination mode on).

I think you played too much PCM and knowit's transfer rules
And anyway, Petacchi would have contract for only one year. They need him seeing how the train is performing so far, especially as they lack the last leadout man for Cav, for whom Petacchi would be best option available.

Didn't Cav said a while ago that he wanted to be Keisse he's leadout men? |

Then Petacchi ends contract with Lampre, and few days later says he wants to end his career as leadout man.
Who would you prefer? Petacchi or Keisse? ..

Keisse will be the leadout men during the Giro.
The same Keisse who hasn't raced any real WT race yet except of the classics where he was the first to work.

Cav want Keisse on his train but not as lead-out man. Cav want that Keisse does what Eisel does in his HTC-days

Eisel and Grabsch were the ones working at the front all day in Tour 2009. Not helping the sprint preps. Eisel's mains job was protecting Cav in the non-sprint stages.

Like the job Eisel had at Sky.
you said:
what Eisel does in his HTC-days
Big difference between Cav HTC and Sky Cav. Cav HTC was much more impressive.

Yeah you are right, I read that article a few days ago and I thought that It was about Eisel at HTC, sorry.
But still, I hope that Petacchi comes to OPQS, they can use him in his experience.

It's also irl not allowed to change teams at this time of the year.
This is just a back door, leaving the team -> free rider -> new contract. That way everyone can just change team whenever they want... |

Cavendish wants Petacchi as his lead-out man for 2013. Although Petacchi had announced his retirement, there is still a little chance he will ride at OPQS this year serving Cavendish in the sprints.

It's worth mentioning that Cavendish approached Petacchi about this before the season started: https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/petac...e-for-2013
So hardly surprising it's in the headlines again now that it's possible |

He can have who he wants, Sagan will kick his ass for the green jersey in July anyway, even without perfect leadout...

Yep UCI won't allow it and have closed the loophole:
https://inrng.com/...er-market/
For once some sensible and rapid policy from the UCI.

Amazing line:
The loophole in the UCI rules is that a team, let’s call them Sigma Farmer-Quakerstop, could quietly approach a rider currently under contract with an existing team and whisper details of a new contract to them.
