Well done on not losing any time there despite it looking like they are 30 seconds behind Wink

Actually, I thought we would lose over a minute there, I seriously don't know what happened... Shock

Vuelta a Mallorca: Stage 4

The decisive stage. Which favourite will have the most power on the last climb? Can Sagan defend his Yellow Jersey? Can Brambilla defend his Mountain Jersey? He has 16 points of lead to L.L.Sanchez and there are 18 points up for grabs today.

s14.postimage.org/m8u19dij5/PCM0001.jpg

Right off the bat we can see, that... Mollema has fallen. Just the usual stuff...

s14.postimage.org/5wjzjn47l/PCM0002.jpg

The brave escapees of today. We can't see Luis Leon in that group...

s14.postimage.org/t9i125kb5/PCM0003.jpg

Petrov takes the first mountain sprint, which means, that Brambilla has won the mountain classification!

s14.postimage.org/66ri2zitt/PCM0004.jpg

They were caught before the big climb, where some pseudo-favourites decided to go on an adventure...

s14.postimage.org/w11asritt/PCM0005.jpg

But they were caught by the strong men... The first group contained only 15 riders.

s14.postimage.org/xesxo2i35/PCM0006.jpg

Luis Leon Sanchez decided to go for a solo ride! Can they catch him?

s14.postimage.org/exyix924x/PCM0007.jpg

Purito is doing all he can to follow LuLu. Will it be enough?

s14.postimage.org/p6r032q6p/PCM0008.jpg

No! L.L.Sanchez takes a great solo victory and wins the Vuelta a Mallorca! What a ride!

s14.postimage.org/vhrm5r21d/PCM0009.jpg

Our best placed man in the GC was Pozzato on a nice 16th place.

s14.postimage.org/lvy1pgavl/PCM0010.jpg

But we take home the Polka Dot Jersey, well done Brambilla!

Not the best race for us, but we still take home a jersey. Hey, we can't win everything!

Next up is the Tour Méditerranéen. Stay tuned!

Well, after one week into the story, I finally reached the end of my pre-written reports (which were written before I started the story), so Yay! Grin
But this means that there are no more floaty names in the following reports Pfft

Tour Méditerranéen: Preview

Route

img.server86.nl/sport/wielrennen/editie/profiel/35_2012_1.jpg

A short flat stage with two classified climbs. It should end up in a mass sprint.

img.server86.nl/sport/wielrennen/editie/profiel/35_2012_2.jpg

Classified as flat, but they have to climb a hill two times and another one once. It should end up in a sprint though.

img.server86.nl/sport/wielrennen/editie/profiel/35_2012_3.jpg

A flat stage, there is not much to it, really.

img.server86.nl/sport/wielrennen/editie/profiel/35_2012_4.jpg

The queen stage with a killer uphill finish. The stage itself is fairly short, so it should suit a strong puncheur.

Tour Méditerranéen: Stage 1

A flat stage, we are looking at our sprinters to deliver a good result.

s8.postimage.org/bunqynnt1/PCM0001.jpg

The first breakaway of the day contained Pardilla and Tortelier. It was chased down by Roubaix Lille Métropole, so Flahaut won the first Intermediate Sprint.

s8.postimage.org/qpccctxdx/PCM0002.jpg

The second breakaway didn't have any famous riders in it either. They got 6 minutes gap, but they knew they could never make it home...

s8.postimage.org/y41o57j9h/PCM0003.jpg

Our forming sprint train has spotted the escapees... It is going to be a mass sprint finish!

s8.postimage.org/qa12jtbgj/PCM0005.jpg

Oh no! A mass crash at the back of the peloton! Apparently Siutsou has fallen, so in the end he lost almost 5 minutes. What a big loss for Sky's leader! But let's see what's happening on the front!

s8.postimage.org/dhcyjvzut/PCM0006.jpg

The sprint is on! We are in a perfect position!

s8.postimage.org/kvxoyiwcl/PCM0007.jpg

The leadout is almost perfect, can Oss finish the job?

s8.postimage.org/6bgm3p1dx/PCM0008.jpg

Can he? No! Dall'Antonia has won by a millisecond... Still a decent second place for Oss!

Tour Méditerranéen: Stage 2

Another flat stage with three climbs on a minor hill. It should end up in a mass sprint.

s14.postimage.org/wqr5zubgx/PCM0002.jpg

As usual, a breakaway managed to get away a few kilometres from the start line.

s14.postimage.org/c5ce7xtw1/PCM0003.jpg

Talabardon took the first mountain sprint in front of Mol and Gruzdev...

s14.postimage.org/ihrjhrwy9/PCM0004.jpg

...And the second one in front of Thurau and Mol.

s14.postimage.org/j60e0pvo1/PCM0005.jpg

15 km to go, and our train was pedalling to the front, the escapees knew they were about to get caught...

s14.postimage.org/59nkb3a1d/PCM0006lol.jpg

...B...But...What happened after? The cameraman must have been so surprised himself, he forgot to adjust the settings!

s14.postimage.org/48nblyt1t/PCM0006.jpg

Banco Santander Cycling pulled off a Quadra-Victory! Oss - Trentin - Antón - Guarnieri in the first 4 places! B...B..But how did this happen? Well, we caught the escapees with about 10 km to go, and suddenly the tempo of the other trains stopped....But not ours! We kept pushing the pace, so we managed to get this amazing result! Well done, guys!

Tour Méditerranéen: Stage 3

A flat stage with a 1st category climb. Will we see some action today?

s9.postimage.org/ni9zbyc1r/PCM0001.jpg

The biggest names in the breakaway were Rowe and Silin today.

s9.postimage.org/aplvc10fz/PCM0002.jpg

Surprisingly, Rowe only took a third place in this sprint!

s9.postimage.org/h210lv3i7/PCM0003.jpg

As usual, our trains were about to catch the breakaway members...

s9.postimage.org/l8h9ngdq7/PCM0005.jpg

...To enter the mass sprint! Oss was in really good position again...

s9.postimage.org/7g7g5kccf/PCM0004.jpg

...Meanwhile, there are some mass crashes in the peloton, Siutsou is on the ground again! But let's see how the sprint is going...

s9.postimage.org/v4icn3ji7/PCM0006.jpg

Oss finished his job with style! Amazing performance once again!

Can Oss hold onto his GC lead on the final stage? We will soon find out!

Micro interview with Igor Antón

4.bp.blogspot.com/--F3j4TksG-g/Tp4J04mUKUI/AAAAAAAAFhk/9zz33XxctG4/s1600/Anton%2B427.jpg

Reporter: Welcome! First of all, congratulations to the 4th place you managed to get in today's sprint. As a climber, why do you even participate in the mass sprints?

Antón Well, I always try to finish on the best place possible, and on some races it's even more beneficial thanks to the bonification seconds.

Reporter: But how do you manage to outsprint great sprinters like Dall'Antonia or Lodewyck?

Antón: I can only thank my team, mainly Daniel Oss for that. He let me take his wheel after I finished my turn in the sprint train - which was quite early as usual, since I'm not a great sprinter - and I decided to follow him throughout the sprint. So all credits to Dan, and congrats for the win, buddy!

Reporter: Thank you for your time, best of luck on the last stage, and good luck your entire season!

Antón: Many thanks, hopefully I can deliver my team some great results!

Oss wins again Wink
