It was a film (well, a trailer of a non-existant film) made to provoke a reaction. Now they have a reaction, so a bunch of moronic bigots are having a nice celebration somewhere in America.
I sometimes really don't understand how the US can be so right wing all the time, even up to the extreme as stated as above. Trying to not offend anyone from the US here by the way, but I get the feeling that socialism is a foul word there.
It just doesn't make sense to me why this is the case. I mean, I come from a country where social-democrats and socialists pretty much have been present since the abolishment of the absolute monarchy.
Speaking as a progressive liberal democrat myself, I completely understand where social democrats are coming from as it's not far from each other. Ron Paul quotes like the above just seem retarded to me in every way. What ever happened to a doctor's code of helping fellow man, for the good of mankind? How can that guy even put that in harmony with christianity, as he's probably another conservative christian?
