If Froome doesn't end up in red after the TT, his Vuelta challenge is over. He simply won't live with the attacks of the climbs to come, as has been proven so far.
Might be time to change his nickname to One-Pace because he can't cope with stop-start attacking accelerations.
People we are not in the high mountain stages, wa are not in the agilru or the bola del mundo or anything else, we just have passed the medium mountain that favorite puncher with good climb ability like rodriguez, valverde, contador(uran, roche, moreno) but if we go trough the bola del mundo i think froome will be the one taking the lead, because in high mountain stage you must think about attaking 5km before the finish and froome now well how to stop the attack if he have a long distance

Contador is only a "puncher" with good High MO ability? Seriously? Someone get this guy out of here

It can be said to some extension about Purito and Piti, but Bertie?
But i also think Froome will rise later (after blood bag days) and will finish second behind Conta...

Well I've always considered Contador a top class descender... remember when he distanced Sammy Sanchez on that narrow descending run-in at TdF '11 whilst Voeckler and co. were falling off their bikes left right and center? Not a Nibali or Hushovd for sure, but I'd reckon in a category just bellow? Valverde is pretty class as well.

I'm going to stick my head out here and predict that the rider who takes red on Wednesday will win the race. And some 'good sleep' will certainly aid in that Edited by pcm2009fan on 27-08-2012 13:33

Well, i think complete opposite,as we can have three riders in 30 seconds after the TT, so in the half of the race easily. And easier half, because the second one will be deciding imo...

Do u guys think Purito is going to lose more than 1:30 mintutes in the TT??? I dont think he is going to lose more than that.
I think purito will lose 1.30 mplus in the time trial, has he shown us that he is capable of any better in TT's.
On Gilbo well he will never win a Giro, TDF possibly a Suisse, I think the WC is what he aiming for this year. Bad form early and coming right at the right time suggests he is a BIG chance.

Obviously, Gilbert is not a GC rider. He wouldn't survive in the mountains and his ITT is not decent enough.
Maybe I should have said it differently, he's won almost everything that's within his reach as a puncher and since the WC favours the punchers this year, he makes a decent chance.
BTW, I'm not a fanboy...

Froome is not impressing me (and that's hardly surprising after riding the Tour), and Contador isn't there yet. I think Purito is underestimated a bit here as a TT on this terrain.

TT with a categorised climb should be Froome's forte, He can ride at a steady pace up a climb much better that the rest who are used to using them to attack.
He's much better than the others on the flat, a flat TT would suit him so much more. Also, the TT has downhills. He descends like a blind squirrel on jet skis
That's not an analogy we have here in Britain
It's a registered issoisso trademark
Anyway, I wouldn't say Contador is a particularly good descender. His bike handling isn't anything special. He tends to come near grief relatively often. He just takes a lot of risks that most riders don't.
Well, that and his heavy brass balls lower his center of gravity making him more agile in corners

"I love him, I think he's great. He's transformed the sport in so many ways. Every person in cycling has benefitted from Lance Armstrong, perhaps not financially but in some sense" - Bradley Wiggins on Lance Armstrong
I don't get the balls reference but I guess they sure must have come in handy here
I suppose Contador is a bit 'hit-and-miss' although I reckon many 'good' descenders like Voeckler tend to be quite like that too. Anyway I'm probably over-estimating him based on that one memory I had.

i don't give a damn i think contador was a top class climber because of the product, anyway his team will receive many calls(the new products are acting fast) and now i think that we most stop him because he was with armstrong for two years.

You know that he and Armstrong weren't exactly best friends when they rode together, right? Contador was by far the strongest in that Tour, but most of the team helped Armstrong instead.

Well it's not possible for him WC is the only realistic aim for Phil that hes yet to win, maybe he could if he moved to Sky. They'd make him Grand Tour contender with their training schedules wouldn't they?
