@ Teddy- Thanks a lot. Very motivating words there. I also love Salerno and Wurf and of course I have to have Canadians
@ luigi- It is a lot, but I want to ride a lot of races and get a high finish in the CT and I dont want many of my riders to go over their 60 race days.
@ Pellizotti- Thank you! Great to hear coming from such a great writer.
@ Zoom- Thank you!
@ Freitas- Thank you, took me a while to do the presentation
@ sutty- What, wheres the optimism? But yeah, thats all Canada has really
@ olabj- Thanks. I dont think its too many. Just a lot like you said. Thank you.
@ Mre- Thanks a lot! I hope David can get great results for the team. The move should be great for his development. He's learned a lot of valuable TT tips from Sky, but wasn't riding for himself enough.
I can fix that.... I think he had 4 stars in every category though, so he could become decent enough.
@ Andy- Thank you so much! Great to hear from you!
All these comments motivate me for more, so I will try and get David's first blog of the season up soon!

January 10th, 2014
Well last season was a nightmare. It started off alright, and I had some great results at Pais Vasco. But after my injury, the season was very depressing. So my hope is that I can make a huge comeback this year. I really enjoyed my time at Sky, and I learned so many valuable things.
Its hard to put out a season schedule with so many wildcards as a Continental team, so I will just let you know the races I will be participating in for the upcoming month. I dont have much racing in January, but I will be taking part in one race.
January | | | | | | | | | | 30.1 | | Grand Prix la Marseillaise | 1.1 | 1 Stage |
Total Race Days (2014): 1
Get a Top 10 at GP de Marseillaise
My ambitions for this month are simple. I want to do well in my one race day. This isn't my season goal by any stretch but I want to get a good result for the team, and of course for myself. I think I can achieve this goal, because even though I wont be in great form, neither will my opponents.
Early results are crucial to the team this year. We want to get into either the Giro d'Italia or the Vuelta as a wildcard team. I know its hard to do, but with great results we can do just that.
So thank you for reading and wish me luck for this rather light month of racing.
Yes, I've brought back my popular "Ask David" segment, because its a way for my fans to get "closer" to me, and I think that this is important. Fans mean a great deal in cycling.
Rules
Spoiler
- Only the first two question directed to David will be answered after each blog that includes the Ask David segment.
- The questions must be related to cycling, or David.
- If you consistently get your questions answered, try to let others have a chance.
- Questions will be answered in the next Blog entry, so be patient.
So thanks for reading guys. And please read the rules. My "editor" can answer any questions on how this will work if it still needs clarification, but if not, feel free to leave a question for me.

So david,

Its my first race of the year, and I'm here with my new team. I know I said I wanted a top 10 but I really just want to see where my legs are at this stage. I dont think the field is insanely strong here, and I am an outside favourite in all the odds-sites so I feel I can get a good result as I thought before, of course depending on my legs.
Early on in the stage, a breakaway forms and Ben King is able to represent Spidertech! The breakaway is given a lot of room today, and the peloton leave it extremely close!
The break going over the summit and King, just reaching for a bottle. The break continues to pull out a nice gap. They could just survive today!
Frattini of UHC goes! Its a great move too! Have the peloton left this too late?
On the final gradient, Roche the race favourite attacks! He can feel the headwind, and doesn't get too far with his acceleration.
Riblon starts out the sprint, as he sweeps up the breakaway in the final km's. A heartbreaking way to end the day for the BOTD riders!
But Dumoulin comes out of nowhere, from more than 5 bike lengths back, and takes the win by what looks like 50m. Its a great effort for him!
As for my effort, I was able to track sprint to a 10th place, achieving my goal! It is a great feeling to start the season off like this. I cant wait to see what lies ahead for the month of February.

It returns! Awesome screens, and a great result! Great for this to be back.
Just one thing, I think the results look a little strange in italics, but that's just me.

Thank you. Very motivating comment.
And I was just copying cunego, because I liked the look of Italics in the results in his story
I can do it the other way next stage and see which one everyone likes better, as I kinda like the Italics

Excellent way to kick off the season for David!
Also, love the screens as usual. Like the italic results too, so I think you should keep it that way. Great to see this rolling again.

Great that you're back to race reporting I can only repeat what the others said, nice report, nice result. And I can hardly say something against something you copied from me, right?
Also, if I see it correctly, there's still a question open for David, isn't it? So here you go:
Hi David,
my question is: Where do you see yourself in, say, two years? I reckon you are strong enough for a World Tour team. But I also guess you enjoy your role as a team leader. So do you want to help developing SpiderTech on the long run or do you plan to join a WT team soon?
