And I thought it couldn't get worse. Caruso looks injured, which means that he won't be able to perform on top in our most important race of the season, Trentino.
Our season just took a turn from looking great to being a disaster.

Lucky you, that fitness situations of one race doesn`t influence the next race in the Man Game. So he will be totally fit for Trentino. |

It doesn't? That's awesome then.

I think crashes have been important in this race the last couple of years....will be nervous race for some of the favourites.
Again - I think somehow crashes with favourites must be hardcoded somewhere...that's 3 years running now for this race.
Indeed a crazy race. Volkswagen with the luckiest leader.
Congrats to an awesome season so far.
Ferrari with enough bad luck probably for half a season. |

Wtf is this? Caruso seems to crash even more than Gesink.
I agree with beagle, please end this nightmare now.

Very exciting final stage. In the end, I'm very satisfied with my team. 6th and 7th overall was above all expectations, and we raced aggressively through the whole race, being in nearly all breakaways. Jørgensen was the only disappointment.
Thanks for great reporting Smowz! The race has really been a pleasure to read, the reports have been nice all way through.
Now though, I'm really looking forward to France. That's going to be a thriller for me, seeing we have a sponsor goal there
Is it you, Smowz, that is going to do the reports from Corsica aswell? |

Great reports, as always, Smowz!
Happy with Oz' aggressiv racing here.. too bad we didn't take a stage-win out of our succesful breaks, but Matthews' 3rd today is still pleasant, as well as Michael Vink's multiple breaks

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good
I felt Marzano raced like a god, then again, he had to, he had no support in this race :-p Quite funny that he ended up grabbing the points jersey on the last stage, if my math is right he should jump into the top 5 now (Induvidual ranking) since he got 2 stage wins (25 points each), GC win (165 pts), Points jersey (25 pts), shared mountain jersey (25/2 pts if I recall the rules), and points from holding the different jerseys (shuold be some 50 pts aswell). A good race by him indeed.

Bah, not nice to lose that second place to an much worse rider - Castaño lacked timing there but none less will we have to be satisfied with the overall result when looking on all the misfortune big contenders like Gadret and Caruso had.
- Can't wait for Corsica!

He will indeed, though I believe all the big guns will participate (Though not sure about Valverde).

Let's hope he wont, and I would guess Alarcon will not be there? Considering the TT.
VDB should be the favorite, I'm just waiting for him to own the field

Alarcon will of course be there. It's a massive mountain stage, and "only" 7 kilometres of TT. And I've got a top 5 goal there, it wouldn't be good to not go with Alarcon then. Still, a top 5 is still by no means a "sure shot," seeing Alarcon has to create gaps on the mountain stage, I'm definitely hoping for a good daily form. |

Haha own and own, I would be really surprised if that will happen that consider the way the season has turned out so far.
Wouldn't be surprised to see one or two of the favourites completely fail on the big mountain stage, and I believe the gaps on the TT will be rather small. Can't wait for it!

This was a good result for my squad. Two in the top 10, a jersey and a decent place on team GC, along with a series of strong stage results means plenty of points. It bodes well for Stetina's season. I'm kind of banking on him overperforming.

Did I just miss a season goal by one single point? Damn you, Marzano.
Changes my point of view for this race, really. Anyway, nice reports Smowz, it has been a pleasure to read. |

That sucks Thrige, sorry (You know, I'm not really sorry, but let's pretend I am :-p)
Ryca, let's hope my luck contiues, none of my leaders have underperformed so far, I'm just waiting for it
