I read in the paper this morning that the team Katusha has pucblicly declared that they're top priority for next year was the sprinter/cobblestone specialist Tpm Boonen. His contract has not been renewed, and we'll see if he's interested in joining with other strong cobblestone rider such as Fillipo Pozzato.

Tirreno-Adriatico Stages 6 & 7

Not surprisingly it was Phillipe Gilbert who pulled out the victory in the small hilly stage. Another bad day for Scarponi, almost 2 minutes back of the winner.

So Lampre had a pretty bad Tour, but it was alright, because Scarponi was in bad form. Rodriguez did a great job in winning the overall, and Gilbert won a few stages, and was only a few seconds off of the overall victory.

Milan-San Remo
None of the climbing ended up affecting anyone, and it all ended up in one big peloton mass sprint. Petacchi was in there for Lampre, however it was the duo of Heinrich Haussler and Tyler Farrar who got first and second, with Petacchi closing for third ahead of Cavendish.
Stage Results
Spoiler 1. Heinrich Haussler Garmin-Cervelo 7h33'35"
2. Tyler Farrar Garmin-Cervelo s.t.
3. Alessandro Petacchi Lampre-ISD s.t.
4. Mark Cavendish HTC-Highroad s.t.
5. Allan Davis Astana s.t.
The goal for this race was to win it, and although Petacchi didn't achieve that, he came close, and it was still a pretty good result for him.

Stage 1 is technically considered a hilly stage, but in reality it isn't very difficult, and will probably end in a mass sprint.

Wow, what a week. (This is the real me talking). Here in New England, for the first time in a long time, there was a blizzard, and I guess the trees weren't ready yet, because many fell, and powerlines everywhere were out of place and broken.
This rendered all of New England, including Western Massachusetts, out of power for nearly a week, which has of course made me temporarily stop my reporting. But now the power has finally been restored in my house, and I will begin to play the third stage after breakfast

Vuelta ciclista a Cataluna Stage 3
This stage is a real mountain stage, with one small climb and two leg-busters. Scarponi's fitness has improved, and he'll look to make a move on this stage to climb up the General Classification. His biggest competition will come from Ivan Basso and Cadel Evans,
With this stiff competition and Scarponi's not superb form, we decided to take a risk.
On the second climb, Scarponi attacked, with a ten man breakaway already leading.
It didn't quite work, as they were all caught with 10k to go.
Then the contenders started attacking, but neither Evans nor Basso made any moves, and Bertagnolli actually stuck with them, and took third on the stage behind Voeckler and Marano.
Marano won the sprint, attacking with a kilometer to go and beating Bertagnolli and Voeckler to the line.
This meant Marano also took the lead in the G.C, with Voeckler 4 seconds behind and Bertagnolli 15 seconds behind. Scarponi was now back 1'19"
Stage Results
Spoiler
1. Daniel Marano Katusha 4h52'59"
2. Thonas Voeckler Europcar s.t.
3. Leonardo Bertagnolli Lampre-ISD +0'9"
4. Linus Gerdemann Leopard-Trek s.t.
5. Luis Leon Sanchez Rabobank +0'23"
General Classification
Spoiler 1. Daniel Marano Katusha 12h49'01"
2. Thonas Voeckler EuropCar +0'04"
3. Leonardo Bertagnolli Lampre-ISD +0'15"
4. Linus Gerddemann Leopard-Trek +0'19"
5. Luis Leon Sanchez Rabobank +0'33"
Daniel Marano was the man of the day
Ok guys, this is the real me talking. No, that wasn't the longest breakfast ever. Rather, my computer crashed while I was playing the stage, and i put off playing it again, day after day, until eventually i forgot about it completely, and have just remembered it this week, and I feel terrible. I just lacked motivation, but I'm back now, and I hope to stay, although I'm very busy with school and sports, but I'll try to get updates as fast as possible

Vuelta ciclista a Catalunya Stage 5
This stage is hilly, and will probably favor a breakaway. Leonardo Bertagnolli will most likely assume the role of leader in this stage for Lampre, and Scarponi will try and help him defend his high place overall.
Jesus Hernandez of Saxo Bank-Sunguard made the early attack, and he opened up a big lead and stayed away for the rest of the day. No other attackers could escape, so Hernandez won it with quite a cushion over the peloton.
Aitor Perez was Lampre's highest finisher in 6th place.
Stage Results
Spoiler 1. Jesus Hernandez SaxoBank-Sunguard 5h18'52"
2. Edward Verganov Katusha +4'24"
3. Dennis Golimzyanov Katusha s.t.

5. Vladimir Gisev Katusha s.t.
Jesus Hernandez with a big win today.

Criterium International Preview
This year, the Criterium International has three stages, one tough mountain stage, followed by a very short and easy flat stage for the sprinters, and then a 7.9 kilometer time trial to close it out.
Lampre has a three-pronged attack of Simon Spilak, Przemyslaw Niemiec, and Diego Ulissi to be the leaders for this one. All three would want to grab a top 20 place overall if possible.
Vincenzo Nibali of Liquigas-Cannondale is the favorite to win it all. Pierre Rolland and Jerome Coppel will also likely make a run for it.

lets hope for some results for Ulissi at Crit Inter. I came across this story and Ulissi is a rider I like so I'll follow a little. (If the reports come).

Criterium International Stage 1
Today's stage has several pretty difficult climbs, finishing on the very difficult climb of the Col de l'Ospedale. That climb will most likely sperate the men from the boys. I was nervous heading in for sure. Vincenzo Nibali was the main favorite. Pierre Rolland, Jerome Coppel, and also me and Simon were also picked as outside chances to take the stage, but no one doubted that it would be Nibali winning it.
The first real breakaway established was two men, Inigo Cuesta of Caja Rural and Anthony Geslan of FDJ.
They lead their way over the firsst climb and had a 3 minute lead before the peloton started moving. Alfredo took the challenge of setting a blistering pace, and he began to reel in the breakaway.
The lead was down to 2 minutes over the penultimate climb, and Balloni wasn't letting up. I began to wonder what he ate last night to make him so great today. I just sat a few riders behind him, trying to save my energy for the final ascent.
Finally, we arrived at the bottom of the Col de l'Ospedale, 1'30" back on the two leaders. The climb is 14.4 kilometers long, with an average of 6.0% gradient.
The climb started rather easy, before the gradient started to kick up, and Balloni pulled off the front, allowing Sylvester Szmyd of Liquigas to take the lead.
As the road steepened, more and more riders began to drop off, including Balloni and Niemiec, until me and Simon were the last Lampre riders left in a 10 man group. The breakaway was caught before long, and Szmyd was at the front, chugging away for his leader Nibali.
My legs were hurting at this point, and I looked over at Simon, who looked to be in a lot of trouble.
"How ya feeling?" I asked him. He simply shook his head and responded,
"Bad."
He dropped to the back end of the pack with just under 5 kilometers to go. I tried to stick to the back of Nibali's wheel. I knew he would be the first to make a move.
Finally, with three kilometers to go, he went.
I couldn't match his burst of speed. By this point I realized that Simon had fought his way back to the front of the group and was trying to pull Nibali back in.
With under 2 kilometers to go, Pierre Rolland took off after Nibali. I followed right on his wheel, struggling to keep behind him. No one else could follow us, and soon we had started to close the distance to Nibali, who had under 1 kilometer to go.
As me and Rolland passed under the banner, I realized that I still had some strength left in me, so I pulled around him and launched my final sprint.
I was slowly cutting down the distance to Nibali, but there wasn't enough room left in the stage, and he raised his hands in victory for the stage win.
I was still ecstatic with such a great finish. I beat the likes of Rolland, Coppel, and even Simon. That's some bragging rights for me! He finished in 4th place, 37 seconds back.
As I headed over to the team trailer to get washed up, I was informed that I had the lead in the King of the Mountains competition and the Young Rider competition. That was just icing on the cake for me!
I was honored to be standing on the podium twice, and our team also lead the overall team competition.
Today may not have matched how happy I was after the Paris-Nice, but it was certainly up there.
Nibali did get the best of me today though, and he deserves the glory he got for it.
