Not experienced the probs of others with this patch. Just played Paris-Tours in my career. Both Rodriguez and Pozzatto were close to their peaks. Managed to break away with Rodriguez in the finale and win - Pozzatto came from around 5 or 6 riders back in the sprint to win it comfortably. On hard.
Dot seems to have been made a bit stronger thereby making it easier for strong climbers / puncheurs to ride away from the pack on climbs. The races seem to break up alot more on hilly stages too which was the big thing I wanted them to fix. |

I gave up hope for now. PCM 2011 hopefully be better. Switched back to PCM 2007, more fun with my career there than in any PCM 2010 game unfortunately.
So sad because the graphics are truelly remarkable.
They are indeed very close to a very good game, but just the last few things bug me off.
i like pcm07 gameplay much more than pcm10, too
but going back to daily manual adjustment of fitness schedule is unbearable!
08 and 09 simply crash too much, so i'm staying on pcm10 with 1.0.4.1
I'd love to go back to pcm07 but i'm on windows 7 now |

@ Fenian
Freire answered that they just fixed the stopping sprinters.
So the hilly AI is the same than with 1.0.4.1.
Try a masssprint with a 3-4 men train.
Then you will see that the last sprinter won`t overtake the train.
I tried a few mass sprints and never was able to overtake Vansummeren und Hunter with Farrar, although his bars were full.
@grahamearl
Where`s the problem?
I play PCM06 on Win7 64bit, Just update Starforce or whatever the protection is.

Tested it out some more... sprints are 100% broken with the 1.0.4.2 patch. Basically your leadout man @ 3k is going to be the guy who crosses the line of your train first in the 10 tests I've done. Going back to 4.1 and quite probably giving up on PCM10 as so much is broken.
Yeah i've had that problem, 1st man sprints and then anyone behind him in the train will sprint but not overtake anyone ahead of them in the train. |

Only sprint I've tried was Paris-Tours. Worked well for me - though it was for second place after Rodriguez blasted away on the final bump.
PATCH NOTES 1.0.4.2:
- Improved gaps for hilly races (e.g. : ardennes classics).
- Fixed several bugs in sprints which helped the climbers or the non-sprinters winning sometimes mass-sprints ahead of real sprinters (flat stages).
- Sprinters AI amelioration when they choose the sprinter they’ll follow.
- Fixed a bug where the sprinters could "brake" with no reason before the finish line.
- Loss of time for a puncture or a fall is now a bit shorter.
- Fixed a bug which could stop an attack from a rider which was trying to get some points for the mountain classification.
Freire must have changed his mind since he posted the above.
Played the Lombardia and the Japan Cup since the patch and as I said thought the races broke up very nicely - especially when drilling the pace which didn't really happen all that much in the previous patch. |

Isnt that the 1.0.4.1 notes?
Edit:
1.0.4.1
- Improved gaps for hilly races (e.g. : ardennes classics)
- Fixed several bugs in sprints which helped the climbers or the non-sprinters winning sometimes mass-sprints ahead of real sprinters (flat stages).
- Sprinters AI amelioration when they choose the sprinter they’ll follow.

- Fixed a bug which could stop an attack from a rider which was trying to get some points for the mountain classification.
It is, but with one new point:
- Fixed a bug where the sprinters could "brake" with no reason before the finish line.
So, as said, the 1.0.4.2 fixes that bug and nothing else.

I've got the perfect lead-out bye Renshaw -> steegmans was already with his nose in the wind when i started sprinting with cav he just fell more and more to the back and even some guys like rojas is pasing him -> this was with a single race so he was in topshape . |

Same thing happened to me too, Cav (on a +5) couldn't overtake his lead out man, Renshaw. Renshaw won the stage, with Cav literally glued to his wheel. Both had the same training and racr fitness.
I'm going to uninstall it completely, and then wait for a few weeks for things to, hopefully, get ironed out. If they don't get ironed out, I'm going to reinstall to either 1.0.3.0 or 1.0.4.1 as I liked the gameplay in both of those patches. |

I don`t think they fix anything more now. So I would continue with 1.0.4.1, much better than 1.0.3.0 and very enjoyable.

Is it possible to change from 1.0.4.2 back to 1.0.4.1 witout uninstalling the whole game? Fx just install 1.0.4.1 again on top of 1.0.4.2? |

Just installing 1.0.4.1 from 1.0.0.0 and then click always "no" at the auto update question.
Works fine for me. |

Sorry, but where do I see what version installed? And where do I find the automatic update settings so that I can turn it off? Cause I might just install the latest update by mistake, but Im not sure though...

Go into your game folder and right-click PCM.exe.
Properties->details
There the actual version is shown.
I prefer 1.0.4.1 and then always click "no".
Unfortunately there is no way to delete the auto-update.
Or I just don`t know one. |

Alternatively, make your own shortcut to Program Files/Cyanide/PCM/PCM.exe. This will start the game directly without the Autorun menu and therefore also without the auto update pop-up. |

@Lachi
Thanks for the advice, but I need the internet connection for listening to music
@CrueTrue
Thanks. That`s the best solution. I did this with PCM09 but for no reason at all I had in my mind that there is also the start menu in PCM10, but obviously I was wrong. Works perfectly. |
