Hmm, would this small dose effect his performance? Or is all this about finally catching him for something. That dose wouldn't affect his performance significantly.
Either it's really food poisonning, and he's a victim, but they won't let it go, because they've finally found something, no matter if it's fair or not. "Poetic justice" as someone wrote it above. Even though I don't like that from a philosophical viewpoint, in Contador's case I'd take it with pleasure.
Either that dose is just the left overs. He took a big dose of that, took the hiding product, but the stuff didn't vanish in time for the test, so he's caught with a very small dose and comes up with whatever possible excuse. |

Ok, so one of the best cyclists around should know better than to eat funky looking meat. I mean wtf, why such a lame excuse?
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

Ok Thanks.
Well in that case i fail to see how it is a coincidence. How many steaks in the French town are contaminated on average? And what are the odds of him picking up one? They are the questions they must answer if they want to prove his innocence. Surely no one spiked his food to boost his performance..... That is like anti-spiking. |

I think that maybe "El Pistolero" have shot himself in the foot this time. Although i still doubt that this will break him. I think he was doped during the tour, but I don't think that clenbuterol is what he is using to improve his fitness! |

Generally-speaking we've got strict regulations about food here, like in every developed country. Then there's always the possibility of a quality control failure...
More : not every meat that starts looking funky contains clenbuterol (as far as I know). They use it in China to prepare meat, but that's it, we don't do that here I think.
Now, what is the more likely ? Me winning euromillion this week without even playing, or a TDF winner eating a weird steak in France, and that steak being contaminated with clenbuterol, and then the rider being tested for that particular substance ?
That's a huge lot of coincidences... |

You know some teams do actually take their home food with them Aqua. That's not as strange as it seems to you
Regardless if he did or did not do anything, I'm pretty sure Contador will get away with this. UCI will protect him like they did with Lance |

EDIT: I have a question:
Just how high is Porte jumping in glee right now?

I've heard worse. Last time I was in the Açores, I met an american air force guy stationed in the airbase there.
He kept rambling about how most of the americans on the base are idiots for specially ordering meat from "back home" when they're on the Açores, site of some of the world's best meat (his words, not mine).

I think this is just a diversionary tactic exposed at this time for the case Landys never again be spoken during the worlds and so say all they share the same control antibody positive, and thus innocent of the charges cleared Lance Floyd and others have done |

I'd be all for letting him go if it didn't impact his performance, but if it did. He would be apologizing for having an unfair advantage over the other guys, and offering the yellow to Andy, if he doesn't want it, then just forfit the win and it will go down as a blank winner for that year.
But so far he has just complained about unfair testing and all that rubbish. As if it is somehow ok to cheat if you weren't directly involved. Anyway, i don't think i will be supporting him the way he is acting. |

And Chris Anker will probably be able to ride for the polka dot jersey. Unless they try their luck with Navarro.
Now flaunting my very first avatar...

Andy Schleck's reaction is the same of any guilty doper. Poor guy, hope he's innocent, he has the right to defend himself, yadda yadda.
He didn't quite hit all the clichés. He forgot "Alberto's a great champion"

A new world record that: From mostly unknown to GC leader of one of the most prestigious teams in cycling in 6 months.
