Cavendish stated today that he wants Lance to come clean and admit to what he has done for the sake of cycling
I wonder if that will happen |

I think he needs to confess to it for his own sake, as well as the image of cycling.
The longer he leaves it, the further he pulls his image through the mud! The only problem I see though, is that he can still play the 'never tested positive' card. Whilst he has that, he will always claim his innocence.

It's fascinating that some of the cycling records sites have amended their annual records to show 'DQ' or similar for LA's '99-2005 TDF wins but leave every other record in place, i.e. anyone else who has either been caught doping or since confessed.
It does add some fuel to the anti-American witch hunt silliness some are spouting regarding the LA story. Not an argument I put much weight on, myself, but still. Obviously, being the most 'successful' marks him as the biggest target but still, it makes for an interesting commentary on the attitudes prevalent.
Here's a good example, CHOF: https://www.cyclin...france.txt
What do we think of this?

To me that's logical. I don't say it's right, but Lance's victories have been dismissed by the UCI themselves. Those others have admitted it, but they haven't been removed from history of cycling. Why not? Easy, otherwise we'd have no history of cycling. |

I'm serious that it's a sentiment expressed by many. Especially here in the USA. I'm neither from here nor do I buy into the idea but the relatively large amount of (uninformed) supporters he retains often voice this notion. That record sites amend their lists in this way doesn't exactly do anything to defuse that idea.
Ian, I understand and agree but there are some on there who were caught doping and disqualified. Little Al, for example?

Yes, and he's not listed as 2010 winner there.

Not a doping related question. By how the fuck did he manage to ride the '03 Tour. I think Hamilton is one of the lowest forms of life around, but holy shit do I still respect him for that. |

The problem with the anti-american arguement is that the body that tried to hide his cheating was european. And the body that busted the myth was... American |

Ah you're right - I misread 2009 for Contador as his oops! year.
Flair, on the anti-American argument, quite. I'm not suggesting the argument has actual merit; only that it's a common POV over here in response to the Armstrong 'scandal'. The number of posts I've read on forums here that trot out the 'he never failed a test; where's the evidence, it's all hearsay; what about the Europeans that cheat?' beggars belief.

I didnt for a moment think you did. I was merely pointing out how ridiculous the argument is :-D
But thats patrotism for you. Same thing that make english commentators moan constantly about foreign divers in football and then in the next breath say that the english guy who did the same thhing isnt a cheat, he jusst went down too easily. |

I agree. I remember watching him riding that in admiration as I'd had a broken collarbone that year and could barely get dressed, let alone ride a bike and win a stage and finish fourth. |

I'd guess a mind boggling quantity of cortisone + any other pain killing drug they could get their hands on.
Still impressive to ride with it though. |

It looks like an american witch hunt because there are mainly americans involved like Armstrong, Vaughters, Hamilton and especially the team US Postal which isn't mexican.
So otherwise you could say the Telekom 1996-2006 case was an anti-german witch hunt against that good team and riders like Ullrich..
Where every other nation was just jealous that they haven't such a good team like Telekom was?
What are you expecting when it's (I take the Telekom case) a german team with german riders and germans that spoke out against that team?
Should someone say there "Fu Vino" or "Oh Kevin Livingston you nasty doper"?
Thats not how media works

Next rider to defend Armstrong - Contador!
Good to see that the "clean" guys are sticking up for each other. Valverde, Contador, Indurain...

My words, exactly...
How come there never is a journalist to tell those guys something like "sorry dude, but you're claiming wrong things, there is plenty of evidence" ? |

Lol, the funniest bit about that is him saying it would have been nice if people had said something earlier. Ie, before he joined and doped in front of them all too :-D
Although tbh, I always got the feeling contadors problem with armstrong was that armstrong doped and wanted to know everryone else on his team doped, wheras contador prefers the whole, dont ask dont see method. |

God, I'm so happy my favourite riders spoke out against Armstrong, because such statements makes me dislike these guys (more than I already do).
In other "Lance plays God" news:
He threatened Obama back in 08 because he wouldn't attend a Livestrong event. Obama was in Europe on that date.

This a service announcement, can a mr. Armstrong report to lost properties. A mr. Armstrong to lost properties. We have found a testicle and seven jerseys. Again, mr. Armstrong to lost properties.
