Today in the Carlton-Kirby-Is-Ridiculous update: [With 500 metres to go] "Is Tony Martin going to produce one of the most outstanding individual performances of any time in history?"
Like... it was a great ride from Martin but let's not overstate it. This wasn't Coppi in the 1946 Milan-San Remo or anything.
The whole discussion was pointless since you did not quote him correctly. Well done calling somebody ridiculous when in fact you are acting ridiculously.
What did he say?
I apologise it appears he said "of any grand tour at any time in history."
Still an overstatement but the quote was wrong.
Don't worry, I've never seen Lachi make a non-angry post

Also interesting is the top 10... barely any sprinter could perform. Mostly it was toughened flat and classics rider.
I think it's because of the huge speeds they had to ride at just to catch Tony, and this demonstrates how FL and RES should be handled in PCM.
Not give every sprinter a top FL and RES stat, because when push comes to shove, 80% of the sprinters will just be destroyed by the truly strong flat riders.
No, it should be handled much more simply than that : weight, then height to rule aerodynamics, then an exponential curve of power regression over time and voilà . Of course more things could be added, like ability to peak, tendency to gain too much weight or positioning skills, ambition, etc.
That might not make much sense for random videogames players (although...) so the current stats system could still be used for information purposes only, as elements read from the curves and height/weight.

Don't worry, I was more baiting Lachi. Still complete horseshit.

Did anyone else notice Tyler Farrar taking a 500 meter pull with 1 km to go for no reason?
Wasn't him.
126 FARRAR Tyler Garmin - Sharp 3:09
No idea what happened to Farrar but Garmin were too busy already with Martin. Bad day for them.
Edit: I think it was Farrar with Martin at about 1,5 to go. Really hope Farrar has more luck for once this race.
