And Horner and Leipheimer are confirmed for next year
(for anyone uninformed: joke refering to Alpecin being known for their anti hair loss shampoo)
Fun facts about Alpecin:
- Jan Ullrich does ads for them
- famous slogan: "Doping for your hair. Only for your hair.“
Still awesome for German cycling if true, will be interesting to see whether it's Leopard 2.0 or they'll attract some other names.
Would be nice to see some German talents together. Nerz, Kern, Selig (though pretty happy with Zabel at Katusha, I think) come to my mind.

That better be a joke.

He specifically said it was a joke. Because they are bald and it is a shampoo company.

More specifically, its an anti-hair loss shampoo...
On another note:
The Schlecks might not be the leaders of that team. Despite the fact that the rnt investor Flavio Becca is having legal trouble on more then one account, and the news that the Schlecks have allegedly contacted a lawyer to get them out of their contracts because of disputes with "head managemen" (Bruyneel so to speak), they have stated to RTL (the luxembourgish original) that they have always fulfilled their contracts and plan to do so in future. This means they will be bound to RNT or whatever they'll be called next year (cant see any of the sponsors except for Trek to stay on) until 2014.
The article is strangely no longer available, though.

Representatives of Alpecin have already met last week with Trek in USA.
Trek should be sponsor of the bikes.
Thats the original link in LUX

Have you read the whole article?
I am from Luxemburg and this newspaper is even worse than the Metro Herald in Dublin. There articles are complete Bogus, their research is non existent and even though they claim to be independent, they are not. In short: this so called "newspaper" is the least serious, least correct and least read media read in Luxemburg. Just the criticism against rtl.lu, the internet platform of Luxembourgs most serious national news provider should tell you about the seriousness of this (toilet)paper.
I paraphrase (afterall i have to translate): "4 hours before we received this information, our colleagues at RTL stole it from our website. Not only did they do that but published it as information they obtained themselves [...] so that they can be blamed for lying and stealing etc."
It is also worth noticing that they accuse rtl of nit citing their source but neither do they!
I think the bigger picture is, that this website credits itself for wrong information and accuses the concurrence of theft in order to put themselves into a better light.
The Newspaper itself is only read by the bottom half of school drop outs and their articles reflect this.
Here are serious articles from serious newssites:
RTL: Bridder Schleck: Wiessel bei d'Team Alpecin?
-Talks about contacts, no signatures *which would not be allowed before august as per UCI rules. Lux/Privat also did not mention this!
Wort.lu: New Team fro the Schlecks talks about the leaving the team RNT together with Trek! Again no sigs.
Tageblatt.lu mirrors that statement
EDIT: Im sorry if it sounds a bit harsh, but the site youve picked is not very serious and thus one should not trust that information. Even the Bild in germany is 100x more serious and reliable than lux-privat!!!

The second paragraph in the article in "Stern" says something like "Many experts from the cycling scene confirmed it but there is no official statement".
At least they wrote it clearly but obviously these experts could be anybody.
So better wait and see before this thread is crowded with more news articles containing unconfirmed bogus. |

The Article from the Westfalen Blatt also says that there are rumors stating that gerdeman, voigt and the schlecks are moving to the team. But not that any of those riders have signed.
And Again, Lux-Privat said they had signed. But that is impossible since contracts regarding transfers can only be signed from august onwards. Thats in the UCI rule book.
As Lachi said, in the stern article is no concrete proof either. again rumors regarding those riders are stated. Furtherdown, Voigt says that there havent been any negotiations.
And finally: The Schlecks have (if true) only contacted their lawyer 3 days ago to get out of their contract. They themselves denied this. This means, in order for alpecin to get them both the team would have to buy them out of their contracts, which again is not possible before august (so any transfer confirmation is bogus).
And please read the articles from top to bottom arefully, because a lot of information is in the choice of words or (as the example of Lux-Privat shows) in a bottom note. Your arguments thus are affected by the content of the article and right now it looks like you only read the headline carefully assumed that it was true and quickly scanned the article and without further ado posted vaguely if not completely false information...
Sorry (again) if it sounds a bit harsh, but i suggest we wait and see what happens before we continue this discussion, because no matter how many articles from serious magazines we post, theyll all say the same. Namely: Nothing is confirmed as of yet, Contacts have been established, rumors of possible transfers. Nothing else.

So to make a long and confusing story short: we know nothing yet. Only many rumors, just like you said Miggi.
Hope to know soon, though.
It'd be great to see Voigt riding many more years.
