Fuglsang finally showing the big talent he got. Get away from those Schleck-brothers, Jakob!
Bird Song lost 50 seconds on La Covitalla alreeady, he is not going to be a factor with so many mountains still to come. Top 10 at best.
Have to agree. He is a three-year professional now, right? He TT has gotten a lot better over that course, but he is not a stronger climber than he was in 2009.

Also glod Mollema is 'only' 47 sec behind Wiggins and 36 behind Nibali. I think Froome will falter eventually. If he wins that would be the biggest suprise ever. I mean what has Froome ever done on this level?
Well, he's doing very well 10 stages into this race, so he's definitely got talent. What remains to be seen is if he can maintain it for the next 2 weeks. We've never really seen him perform at all, so who knows how far he will go
Giro d'Italia of this year and the Tour de Suisse?

pozzato, basically the most stupid cyclist around

He was in fact a better climber when he just started. I remember an awesome Dauphine from him, especially uphill.
Now he still does well on short explosive climbs. But on long ones he somehow went backwards.
Maybe he has gotten more muscular > more power in ITT and explosive short hills. But too heavy for long climbs |

And only 2 spanish riders in the top 10, with as names: Cobo and Zubeldia
Spanish Cycling is dead.
But Fuglsang will lose another minute on Manzaneda, 1 minute on saturday and 2 minutes on angliru...
The only Scandinavian factor I see is Kessiakoff, he did well on the previous MTF and is also still good in the GC

I think the cross winds were as much to blame for the gaps as anything else. From what I've seen Wednesday kicks up in the final 2km so may bring different riders to the fore again.

If you ask me I'd say Martin is the best time trialist in the world right now, ahead of Cancellara... I guess we'll find out at the worlds anyway if that's true.
And a 1-3 for Britain so far, I didn't see that coming |

I'm pretty sure Fuglsang was dropped before the Sky forcing that broke the favorites group apart. He is just not the climber some expect him to be

Well its only one stage maybe Fuglsang had a bad day or so. Lets see. I agree that he cant climb with the best, but top 10 should be possible. |

I think he's talking about Froome, not Mollema. |

I think Froome will falter. The plan I think was that Froome was going out all in 1st week helping Bradley, and then Lofkvist, Cioni and Possoni as more proven to date climbers were to help Bradley in 2nd and 3rd week, as seen by saving themselves a lot. Froome in Red is nice addition, but Sky will defitnely follow the plan. If Froome keeps that up and finishes in Top 10, I would be greatly surprised.
He always showed talent, this year Tour de Romandie and Tour of California, the problem with him is the consistency as shown in AtoC and Suisse, where he was brilliant on one stage, but completely blown on second. He definitely improved on it after the Suisse, but he will blow hard on at least one stage . Altough he's still 26 and I see in a year or two him being great GC rider.

With Angliru still coming it's impossible to tell which rider will win this vuelta. Riders can lose lots of time when they have a bad day there. |

Do you think that Froome will keep on surprising or does the Cabeza de Mazaneda fit Wiggins too much to take any care of Froome? Apperantly there shouldn't be as much wind as in stage 9, so the climb will be much easier for light riders.
Edit: I'm also excited about Kessiakoff's performance. He has ridden very well, but will it keep on going? Although it's great to see so many Northern riders doing well, such as the 2 irishmen Roche and Martin, Britains Wiggins and Froome, Danes Chris Anker and Fuglsang and then Swedens Kessiakoff

Just caught up with the last few Vuelta stages. A bit surreal to see a British rider leading and another 3rd at this stage in the GC. Nibali probably in the box seat now, but it's so wide open |

So.
I go on holiday to Kenya the day the Vuelta starts.
I come back, and Kenyan-born Brit Chris Froome is leading the Vuelta
I should go on holiday more often

Big group in the front, with riders like Montaguti, Moncoutié, Bernabeu, O' Grady, Intxausti, Leon Sanchez and Paulinho, while chasing them are Txurruka, Duarte and M. Frank. |

Txurruka, Duarte and Frank have bridged. Duarte is kinda close in the GC so the break may not be given too much time.

So, Contador is today's guest commentator in TVE. He wears a purple shirt with something wrote on it, but only one word is visible through the TV.
That word is 'dirty'.

Sky doing all the work in peleton now. The break is very likely to stay on now.
ITV4 stream - https://www.itv.co...2011/live/
40 km. Break has 8 minutes.

That's pretty awesome.
