They were both grabbing each other, only the referee had no doubts about it...
The red card was ridiculous, Pepe should have seen a yellow card, not red.

The first penal was definately correct. The red card was not laughable but just. The second penalty should indeed have been given.
But how people cannot agree with the red card... well...
1st penalty was wrong: both players pushing each other, and Gotze just falls without any sort of push, so bad call there. But I can see it as an honest mistake.
The red card was ludicrous. Pepe was definitely wrong in his actions, that's obvious. The thing is, he just didn't hit him with the intent to hurt Muller. It wasn't a headbutt! Yellow card? sure. The red card is way out of line
If you think that was a fair call from the referee I can see you agreeing to send off a player just for shouting names at another one. Too much aggression is just as hurtful to the sport as too much diving.

I guess our language is more rich than english. Here an headbutt is not the same as leaning an head towards something. Comparing Zidane's headbutt to this... now THAT is a good headbutt example.

I'll throw in my opinion: (intention of) a headbutt is an immediate red card. It doesn't matter if Müller was hit or not, Pepe's move was intentional and therefore the red card was justified

I think you're way too biased to comment here.
admirschleck wrote:I didn't watch the match, but Mažić is currently one of the best referees in the Europe, so I am more than sure he didn't do anything wrong.
I'm obviously biased, which I've already stated. But you most definitely are not.
admirschleck wrote:I won't enter this discussion, as what you're saying is ridiculously funny.
Funny is reading someone's comment stating he won't enter the discussion as he says someone else is wrong.
admirschleck wrote:It was a CLEAR penalty and it was a CLEAR red card (yes, I watched highlights of the game now).
Another funny thing about your dogmatic perspective is that you fail to mention the clearest case of the whole match - Eder's penalty. Normally I would explain why I think this way, but for the purpose of this discussion I'm just going to state it is clear... sorry CLEAR
