Meanwhile, even not considering the weather wasn't as favourable as last year, Porte must have a VO2 ranging between 85 and 89 to achieve what he's achieved in today's time trial. You can probably add one point to those figures because of the weather aspect then.
That's really as big as it could get for a cyclist.
It's probably normal though that almost the biggest talents ever are all riding for Sky these last few years.
Of course that the dominance of sky brings some suspicion, but you also have to look to the riders, they have a very powerful team to contest stage races.
I really think Porte was in super shape at this paris-nice,maybe sky have the formula of training schedules and training camps to their riders peak when they supposed to.
Saying that i'm not naive and wouldn't be surprised at all if doping was in the mix as well but one thing i'm sure of it:if sky team have a doping program other teams have it as well.
To finish a big kudos to Talansky who i think it's gonna be better than Tejay in the future, give him 3 or 4 years and he will be up there riding to win several big tours and also to Peraud who perfomed very well getting a podium.
Oh that's normal. It's only higher than Hinault's, Armstrong's, etc.

"I love him, I think he's great. He's transformed the sport in so many ways. Every person in cycling has benefitted from Lance Armstrong, perhaps not financially but in some sense" - Bradley Wiggins on Lance Armstrong
Yep, I can't see why people are so sceptical.
As someone rightfully retweeted, you can always believe in one exceptional human being, but in a dozen of those all riding at the same time for the same team ? You have to look at it differently.
