I think you're trying to make it too Euro-realistic- calm down, keep it simple and glitz up the contest as oppose to the format. Embrace the Daily spirit!
My thoughts.

Over-complicating it somewhat. Just get everyone in together fighting each other. No need to drag it out over longer and break things up. I bet you'll see a drop in interest between the various events compared to one grand final.
Mogadishu is ready. Somalia is ready. Africa is ready. Are you?It is time to launch the 6th Daily Song Contest here in Mogadishu! After K'NAAN won the last edition in Helsinki (Kiitos by the way), we have landed in Africa for the first time. The contest has been revamped for this edition, we recommend you read below to become familiar with the new system. The theme of this season's contest is 'One Universe', which shows that we are all living in the same universe, we have no barriers. We shall all unite here in Mogadishu to celebrate music and not what divides us.
With the help of the DSC fund, we have covered the Mogadishu Banadir Stadium, and it is ready to host the Daily Song Contest.
Selection Process & The Contest
This part is the same as usual, but for any newbies here's the low down: you have to choose a song which is affiliated to a country (it can stem out to grandparents), post it here, and then you are signed up! All you need to do then is watch the shows and vote for your favourites. You have until Thursday 26th May to sign up for the contest. Read below to find out more rules about the submissions.
Regarding the contest, for the first time in DSC history we will have semi-finals. These will take place in the week building up to the Grand Final on Saturday 4th of June. The semi-finals will split the competitors in 2, and then they will then compete to make their way through to the final on Saturday (the amount of finalists is to be determined when the sign up is complete). Here is a full break-down of the changes.
Here is the stage design of the 6th Daily Song Contest.
Rules
So the rules are the same as usual, but the voting will be slightly different. Semi-final voting is done anonymously (but will be published after the all the shows and results) and the qualifiers will be revealed in a random order. The finalists countries, and the world jury, will have their points read out by a spokesperson, but the other votes will be combined together to make up the 2nd half of the vote. Those results will also be published afterwards. Apart from this, the rules have stayed the same.
Rules for Participation:
1.
The singer/band MUST come your respective nation, but with a band, a single member can be enough, and some affiliation via parents or grandparents.
2.
The songs can be in any language, doesn't have to be in English.
3.
The songs MUST be under 10 minutes long.
4.
Voting will be done privately via PM to me (EwanWilson), using the usual Eurovision system (1-7 + 8,10 & 12) within the voting period.
5.
The following countries can enter on their own as I have declared them autonomous enough England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland etc. (PM me if you have a proposal for a new country)
6.
Winning songs of the actual Eurovision can NOT enter (F.E Jamala - 1944), but all other Eurovision related entries are welcome (F.E Sergey Lazarev - You are the only one or Margaret - Cool Me Down).
