Sucks for Roompot though. But great to see him back at WT, now with professional staff at least(from what I've heard, the staff at Rabo Dev was better than Vacansoleil's)

Well what would you do if you could choose between Pro Conti and WorldTour? |

Jonathan Vaughters officially declared that Cannondale and Garmin will merge.
Garmin is going to be the main sponsor of the new team, while Cannondale will be second title sponsor and equipment sponsor.
Unfortunately, he said nothing about which riders from both teams will make the new roster for 2015.

Everything about that sounds good except for the green argyle. I really like Cannondale as a bike maker. Their headquarters are 20 minutes from my house. But green Argyle? Why isn't Garmin staying the title sponsor.
It's definitely something to get used to. Also a lot of Garmin riders are without a contract now...
One of them is Farrar

LOL, just asked for some news and got them.
I'm unhappy with guys like Marangoni making it to the roster, though. There are many Garmin guys I would rather have than him and they will be gone.
Of course it all sucks, because the new team doesn't appear to be as cool as the old one for me. But cycling teams don't remain the same forever, unfortunately.
One big advantage football has over cycling, that your favourite team will most likely remain it's name and colours forever.

Yeah, after so many years, this is a hard hit to take.
Still 8 roster spots open though, so it will be interesting to see who they resign from Garmin or get on the market.

They have no need for Farrar when they have Navardauskas and Viviani for the next season. I didn't like Garmin that much because they had two many outdated riders this season so looking better with Villella and Formolo (two great additions) But i hope they extend with Acevedo.

I still don't think Navardauskus is a pure sprinter, but of course they can work in sprints.
But don't forget about Farrar's classics season. it was really good this year and he frequently was placing better than Langeveld who is the team leader.
I just am disappointed that America no longer has a sprinter to contest.

I would consider a sprinter who managed to be third on champs a pure sprinter or at least he is about to become one. He have some great results this year and only option for Farrar would be to be a leadout sprinter if he extend so in my opinion its better if he goes to a team where he could go for his own chances!

Dont forget Mohoric and Moser if they sign as well. I really do think this improves the team this move, but at the same time, its almost too much change for one of my favourite teams, and one that has probably had the most charisma atleast here in North America. Not to mention I've been a big fan of almost all their sponsors Chipotle especially.

I don't think Viviani and Navardauskas can secure all that Farrar could. Tyler is infinetely more succesfull in securing results at some cobbled-sprint classics. Navardauskas did nothing on cobbles since he had became a pro and Viviani is not really a guy who carse for doing well on cobbles as well.
And mind you, Farrar is still the highest classified Garmin's rider in PCS ranking.
I also don't think there are many outdated riders in this seasons' Garmin roster. Millar is the one and Farrar may be another (but as stated above, he is still one of the most consistent performer of the team). But who else? Danielson is quite old, but not outdated for sure, he is still securing important wins for Garmin in USA. Hesjedal may look a bit outdated but still secures top10 in GTs. And barring the four, Garmin has one of the younger rosters in WT this year. |

Wegmann, Nuyens, Vansummeren are all past their best too but i was perhaps a bit harsh on Farrar, he is a good rider indeed but in a pure sprint i don't think he can match those two others i mentioned.
