Got to give it to Contador, he could just fight for second position and ride his own race. However, the man is a winner and ain't going down without a fight, even if it could be to his detriment.
If he wasn't so keen on competing with Froome he could have ridden his own tempo and possibly moved up in to second today. Rather then running out of gas near the finish and getting caught by "everyone" to retain the status quo. |

Watching the last two summit finish reminded me of my PCM Vuelta game on normal mode.Just ride away from the the rest on dot/effort using a team-mate for shielding.Easy as Pie(although i feel Sky might find making Pie a bit more difficult than riding up on mountains.lol)

Fight for the lanterne rouge is starting to get intresting: Muravyev finally found some form finishing in the first big grupetto 5 minutes before the second. Tuft is the new leader.
But with an incredible performance today, Jonathan Hivert has gotten in contention aswell:
180 LOBATO DEL VALLE Juan Jose Euskaltel - Euskadi 32:50
181 HIVERT Jonathan Sojasun 50:21
The standings are very tight with 7 riders in 3 minutes
They should give Hivert the combativité award

that works very easily on normal mode
i won the Giro by 19mins with Basso one time (factor in that he lost about 3 mins while being caught out with water) |

Making a pie is a matter of mixing ingredients just right. You'd think they know how to do that. |

Timed Froome's climb using a replay of the stage. Unfortunately, the cameras didn't show him either crossing the marker at the start of the climb (20.8km, although it did show the peloton just after that) or the corner at 15.5km where I assume the steep part begins (Chavanel was shown there so I took 1'25" from the time he took the corner to get the time Froome started).
20.8km: 58'22"
15.5km: 48'35"
EDIT: Looks like I got beaten to it.

Forgot to say the prediction made by pVAM (post bio passport data derived) was 1617 m/hour, a calculated power output of 5.63 W/kg (Ferrari method), and a time of 50:46 Froome today rode 48:35.

this is very true. it is impressive to see. an old fox like Contador knows very well that this is the real scenario, yet he fights a lost battle like that. he should not give away 2nd tough. he lost a Tour by decree, he can still win one |

Plus the difference between the Contador of 2010 and before and the Contador know..... Nothing is 100% sure, but I tend to believe he is clean now (well, I really hope so, because I love his way of cycling) (and my wife hopes too, as she thinks he is one of the best looking cyclists; I really have no opinion about that).

More interestingly, the Tour of Nauru starts tomorrow, possibly.
It was eleven more than necessary.

Nope, that's the 2002-2007 dopers data. He was more than 2 minutes faster than the 2010-2013 prediction
That said, even Péraud was faster than the 2010-2013 prediction
As for the 2002-2007 prediction, Froome was significantly above it and everyone else significantly below

He must have a better diet, team organization and training facilities than the other riders. More natural talent too, than the others. Very impressive. I'm just glad that industrialized doping hasn't ripped the guts, glory and sporting greatness from the carcass of professional road cycling, for ever more.
It was eleven more than necessary.

When does the Tour start, then? I seem to have mistakenly tuned into Giro del Froomagio.

Going to post the right info again as quite a big mistake of mine above:
