As the others said, it's a pity as I enjoyed this story a lot. But that's really unimportant Also, I think stories are at it's best when the writer puts much passion and joy in it, so just take your time. And take a look at Squire's Discovery Chanel story: It ran for almost 2 years now and he still posts from time to time - always a highlight.
Hey everyone! I'm back after what has seemed like a very long break, but you see I just didn't have much time to update my blog until now. The start of the season has been great for me. My results in the Santos Tour Down Under were very good, and my confidence is growing. Upcoming I have the Tour du Haur Var, where I feel I can do well. If my results at the TDU were any indication, this will be a very fun season full of good results!
My hope for the Tour du Haut Var is to have a Top 5 stage ranking, but as the course is hilly, I might be able to go and take a stage win. The field will probably be a bit weak so that can only play into my advantage. And then I will race Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, which should be fun. I'm not the greatest at Cobbles, but I'm always willing to improve in all areas of the sport, because like I said in my last blog, I feel its an advantage to be an all-rounded cyclist.

Ask David
There were no questions for me last time, so I have nothing to answer
Please ask me something for next time. Only the first person will get their question answered.Edited by valverde321 on 06-10-2011 01:24

@ johannes - Thank you. I'm not sure, but usually the field isn't as strong as a field from the TDU, so hopefully David can do well!
@Avin - Thanks. I think Crommy's question was very serious

Dear David,
Do wish to ever get a larger role on a team, or to move to a pro continental so you can recieve a leadership role?
PS- valverde- I just wanted to say that this story has inspired me to pick David for every race on PCM
I wont be answering this yet, as I already have a question, and actually two, eventhough I normally only answer one, but feel free to ask this next time, if you are the first person to do so

Not exactly sure what you mean? Do you mean, When will someone ask a question if David can't answer or something? Sorry
The purpose of having one question is so that I don't have to answer a lot of questions every time (I still might do something where everyone can ask a question though), and it also rewards the reader, by being the first person to ask a question.
This is only a two day race, but many riders building up for Paris Nice, or Tirreno, like to come here, to get a little bit of competitive riding in beforehand. The last few seasons a Frenchman has been the victor, but now, there seems to be a lot of talent from elsewhere, and the French will really have to work hard if someone from their country is to win and keep the streak alive.
Valverde is back from his suspension, and he is by far one of the best puncheurs in the world of cycling. He also has a very strong team, helping him, although it is only a two day race his team will definitely help. He may not be as motivated to win as a Frenchman, but he is still very motivated, and wants to get his first victory of the season.
Thomas Dekker | Cofidis
Dekker may not be at the level he was before his doping suspension, but he has come back into the sport as one of the better cyclists still showing his true talent for the sport that very few have. Dekker isn't as strong of a hilly rider as Valverde is, but he has already race this season giving him an advantage in form.
Pierre Rolland | Bretagne
Rolland has emerged as maybe the best French Climber in the world right now, and he's trying to build up his form for Paris Nice. However he could very well take a victory here, because he just wont give up on climbs. Because Rolland is French he could be the most motivated to take the win, and he will want to keep the French streak alive.
David's Plan
For this race, I dont expect too much from myself. Its still early in the season, and I dont feel I can contend with the strength of this startlist. I could be named leader of the team though which would mean, only good things, however, the team has told me, they dont expect me to win, or anything like that, so I dont feel like I have too much pressure on my shoulders.
Still I want to do my best, and if I can try for a stage-win, I definitely will.
