Does anyone have a link to anything official about the double climb? because i cant seem to find anything even mentioning a cancellation?
Because all i can find is a mention that the rain will make it "dangerous" in regards to the GC

Its just rain anyway. Its a case of, if it hammers it down on that descent, it will get cancelled. Thats always going to be the case with that downhill. It is never going to be safe in the wet.
They wouldn't cancel today, because they might reach the top tommorrow and see nothing but dry road, which would be silly. Weather in that region is not the most predictable. |

I didnt watch the stage but for sure this thread had to be epic.
Expect loads of happy faces around page 20 turning sour as we hit page 30

People pedalled. Some did it fast, some did it slow. One stopped pedalling halfway and didn't come home.

Good timetrial by De Marchi btw. Wouldn't surprise me if he comes close to a stage win in one of the upcoming days

Can someplz plz explain what Froome-bot specialization is???
Is he a climber or a stage racer(even to a point is he human:lol
or is he just the 1st complete rider???
He climbs better than the climbers,he TT's better that the specialist TT(may be sprint better that Cav,Kittel,Griepel in a few years time)
Froome is what they call a overall GT rider
He is like Armstrong, Rodriguez,Valverde,Nibali,Contador back in the good old days ¨
Rodriguez, Valverde and Nibali are not like the others. Valverde and Nibali can ride a good flat TT. But nothing Armstrong, Froome and Contador, who can/could all win flat TTs, at least in his prime for Contador. The other three can not do that, especially no Rodriguez who is an outright climber, not a GT rider.
Correct me if I m wrong but from what i have read here :
(1) a climber excels in the mountains but is generally a descent TT n loses time like Contador,Rodriguez,Schleck,Nibali,Valverde etc.
(2) a Stage racer performs well in both TT & mountains(but basically is a TT who can Climb well like Evans,TGV,Wiggins,Hesdejal etc.So is expected to lose time on the climbs)
But Froome-bot is exception to that he climbs better than the best n also TT better than the best.So what does that make him???

Your right. But remember that Contador did beat a Cancellara in his peak on a hilly TT, which was not really expected.
But the GC winners like you mention usally doesnt do great on flat TT´s except Froome and Armstrong.
So thats what puts Froome ahead of the rest, he is good on all things, TT, Climbs, flats and so on. |

Its alot to do with body size imo. Small guys (the spaniards/columbians, Nibbles) find the climbs easier as they weigh less and generally keep better power to weight ratios due to this.
The bigger build guys (Froome/Wiggo/Evans etc) have bigger frames, so weigh more. The bigger mass means they have a higher max output which means on flats they can travel faster. However, the extra weight usually means that thier power to weight ratio is slightly lower then that off the smaller climbers.
Froome has a big frame and so a bigger max output, however is also light enough so that he is not giving away anything in the power to weight ratio (IE, even though he is heavier then the little guys, the extra power he generates from the size more then countering that).
Don't ask me how he has managed that though. |

And to all those with sarcastic comments: thanks for the input a time trial can have a summary, yes. "the riders rode" is not a (good) summary

Really thought Valverde had the winning time for a few brief minutes until it was beaten.
Atleast I was correct that Froome won, winning some PCM$

I was just a mere 8", almost 9", from hauling in the money with Contador. Not bad for what could be called a wild stab in the dark, since some people thought Froome was going to dominate far more. |

Still a good TT by Mollema, 11th place is not bad but it's not good enough unfortunately. No shame, he is doing great still! |
