Jesleyh - The Tour has one prologue, one team time trial (damn it) and one 38km time trial.
Glad you like the schedules!

Looking good, Kittel is going to have a hard time getting past his leadout
Maybe I would let Stijn peak one week earlier. He won't be good enough yet for Ronde and Roubaix, but he might surprise again in Dwars Door Vlaanderen, E3 or Wevelgem
And Willy for Vualta!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Will be nice to see them riding the Tour together - which variant is it?

Ollfardh - Kittel will be unstoppable in the tour You're right about Stijn, though he might achieve a top 10 in Roubaix or the Ronde with a great form!
Stromeon - It's just a realname database with the PCM Variant Pack, so it's that variant. Next year, the profiles are back to the ones of 2012. |

You have made some really good schedules, the boys can really shine with them.

Santos Tour Down Under
Most probable our final post before the first race report of 2013. Today we present you the start of Team Argos - Shimano in the World Tour. The kick-off in the Santos Tour Down Under was an important moment for all of us. Kittel was the sprinter, Dutch talent Slagter the leader for the general classification.
Unfortunately, Kittel's best result was a second place in the sprint, with Cavendish taking the win. But Slagter proved to be in great shape and was consistent throughout the entire race. On Willunga Hill, he finished third, he would keep this place into Adelaide.
General Classification
1 | Tony Martin | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | 18h25'44 | | 2 | Alexandr Kolobnev | Orica-GreenEDGE | + 36 | | 3 | Tom Jelte Slagter | Team Argos-Shimano | + 42 | IanButler | 4 | Andy Schleck | Radioshack Nissan Trek | + 59 | | 5 | Michael Albasini | Orica-GreenEDGE | + 1'14 | | 6 | Maxim Iglinskiy | Astana Pro Team | + 1'21 | | 7 | Gianni Meersman | Team Argos-Shimano | + 1'24 | IanButler | 8 | Tony Gallopin | Radioshack Nissan Trek | + 1'27 | | 9 | Kanstantsin Siutsou | Sky Pro Cycling | s.t. | | 10 | Lars Boom | Rabobank Cycling Team | + 1'31 | |

Young Rider: Tom Jelte Slagter
Best Team: Orica-Greenedge (trailed by Argos with 7")
So, that was the first World Tour race as a Pro Tour team for Argos. I think the management is proud of us as a team. It proved we're ready for the challenge and we're fighting on many fronts. Tomorrow we start in Argentina, let's hope we can make this season even better!

So much helping for the team! A lot more than in Lottto. Hope they will have a great time in Argos...
I noticed that they don't have contract for next season but earlier when they recieved offers they should had 3 years? Or did I missed something? |

PCM rulezz - Thanks, Slagter was 8th on the GC but on Willunga Hill he really had a great day
JuanMotr - They have to help a lot, but they get a lot of great opportunities themselves, too. So I think it's evened out pretty well, I hope you agree
Some contracts were for several years, but Argos' offer was only for one season. If they perform well, they can prolong the contract, of course! |

Really? and who offered them 3 years? I thought Topsport was for one year and Argos for three years.. I will look for that page and check it
Edit: I see it now I can sleep with smile on my face now

Love the team. Both have a great schedule for the season. And a nice start with Slagter and Meersman in Australia. |

Ruta de San Luis - Stage 1
Finally the racing can begin! It's been since last September since we've been in a competitive race, so we were both really looking forward to this day. Even more so because today we ride our first race in our new colors!
The first race of the season brings us a relatively short race which will most likely end in a mass sprint.
Last year, Willy took the third place on the podium, and with his great early season form, he'll be looking to move up on the podium.
Stijn has a special memory of San Luis, he got his first jersey here. Ironically, it was a mountain jersey. This year his main goal here is trying to get a stage win, potentially grab the Points Jersey.
Today was all about adjusting for me. I'm feeling great and I'm extremely proud to show off my new colors. I rode around with a big smile on my face in the shirt of Team Argos - Shimano. Here is a photo of me chatting with Jan Bakelants, riding for Radioshack.
I finished 33th, not losing any time. I'm in excellent shape, so I can't wait for the mountains and the time trial! Though with Cancellara here, it might be hard to win that one.
I had a cold a week ago, so my form was still a big question mark. Today I found out what's what. I'm pretty good, but I'm not great yet. I was able to grab Hushovd's wheel for the final sprint, but I felt the speed was just a couple km/h too fast for me. I went into the red near the end there.
As soon as he launched the sprint, I felt I had to let him go. But because of his slipstream, I had a pretty good sprint myself and I could go for the podium.
And I did it. I finished 2nd, right behind Hushovd. Considering my shape, I'd say that's a great start here. If I can get a bit better in a few days, I might go home with a stage win. Though I'd have to beat Hushovd and Rojas Gil to do that...
Result
1 | Thor Hushovd | Katusha Team | 3h40'53 | | 2 | Stijn Van Gent | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | IanButler | 3 | Juan José Haedo | Team Saxo Bank | s.t. | | 4 | José Joaquin Rojas Gil | Katusha Team | s.t. | | 5 | Francisco Ventoso | Movistar Team | s.t. | | 6 | Julian Dean | Orica-GreenEDGE | s.t. | | 7 | Filippo Pozzato | Farnese Vini Selle Italia | s.t. | | 8 | Jimmy Casper | Ag2r La Mondiale | s.t. | | 9 | Fabian Cancellara | Radioshack Nissan Trek | s.t. | | 10 | Andrea Guardini | Farnese Vini Selle Italia | s.t. | | (...) | 33 | Willy Wouters | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | IanButler |
Tomorrow Stijn will ride in the Young Jersey, until then!

sutty68 - I know what you mean for me it's so refreshing. It may sound crude but I was really getting sick of playing with Lotto there |
