It's not that weird considering he finished 2nd in Paris - Nice once.
But wasn't it quite hilly? And that last MTT fits really well good TTers who aren't necessary good climbers, if that's the edition I'm thinking about,
It just got updated and now he's 16th overall. Astana very strong overall with Nibali, Fuglsang, Kangert and Westra.

Froome is clearly affected by the crash, you don't suddenly be outclimbed by Talansky within a few day. His initial acceleration in the saddle was ok he just burnt out. Contdor with a great ride lets hope he wins the Dauphinee
He probably didn't figure out that his abilities would be lowered due to his fall, and tried to stick to initially expected numbers, then blew up.

Do you think Froome is now in big trouble for the TDF?. I am really concerned now, eveyone gets affected different from a crash although his looked a ok fall, it surely affected him today(not making excuses). Is this the type of result where anything can change in 24 hrs?. Tommorow is like stage 2 so i Sky keep it together for bonus can Froome win do you think.
Hesjedal is funny. Couldn't hang onto Trofimov and Westra, but could hang onto Froome.
Hesjedal is probably the weirdest rider in the bunch. He also has made a couple of attacks in the previous stages, when it was sure the break would take it. He makes no sense, but he is fun!
Cant wait for the TDF as most no im not a huge fan of Contador but boy is he exciting. I bet most Comtador fans thought like me He is not attacking Porte's tempo and staying away, cuz Porte was great but Bertie was gone.
Was Froome able to follow? Did he underestimate things thinking he could bring it back. One thing for sure i think AC would have beat him today but CF could have rode it better. Sky look good which is a plus, all Froome has to do is match Contador or lose 20 secs here and their.
Clearly Contador will not tank it tommorow it was obvious he was here to win, people are guillable thinking he does not want to win. Just like he tried on stage 2.
Looking at Tinkoff's roster of Dauphine (especially in comparison to Suisse roster), it's rather clear that they didn't expect Contador to take the jersey and their ambition hasn't been all too high for this race. Like Contador said, this is still mostly a preparation race for him. Now that he has the chance to win it, of course he will take it.
However, despite the rather weak roster for the Dauphine, I think Tinkoff Saxo have all the right cards: They didn't do anything for a week and tomorrow's stage is "merely" 130 kilometers. They should be good to defend that lead team-wise and it'll be down to Froome & Contador. Will be interesting to see SKY tactics too. Froome may speculate on the time bonus and get his team to do working early on. Or maybe they send a guy upfront, but that's unlikely to be allowed. I expect to see the SKY train either way at work and not much tactical unpredictability. Sorta same old.
Other than that, I hope the finale climb will be a good opportunitiy for guys like Talansky, Kelderman or Nibali to make a surprise move and get some good advantage on Contador & Froome, since they'll be eyeing each other quite extensively.

I think Kelderman is now finally on his last legs. Were the TDF contenders are getting better day by day with the added race rythm, Kelderman is worsening because he's already had the Giro on top of it.
He'll be happy to hang on and finish 4th. Although, on the other hand, knowing Kelderman he will probably try anyway if the opportunity is there to take Talansky's place
