Pretty much. To be fair, every rider that has won anything for the last ... forever pretty much says the same thing. |

Him, along with Porte made every GT winner (Conta, Schleck, Evans) Look like a bunch of scrubs, While BEATING Ullrich/Armstrong's times in '05. Jesus Christ somebody take this guy down soon. I don't want to see another 10 years of what just happened in the last 10 years...

Contador hasn't looked normal though, not since his comeback. I mean in PV he was weaker than Weening in the time trial for instance. Beaten by dani diaz in luis, etcetera.
Combine that with the fact that he fell pretty hard early in the Tour, and I think Contador is again far from his possible best.
As for Kreuziger, I think he will fade later on in the Tour, he always does, bit too inconsistent for a GT.
I wonder how Rodriguez will do later in the Tour. So far the podium battle looks to be Valverde/Mollema/Contador/Quintana to me. Quintana was the strongest today but also the dumbest by going so damn early. |

But more importantly, look at the Lampre guy on the left. With a smile so big on a stage like this, he must have been telling the best joke OF ALL TIME.
The only problem is, he's Italian, you wouldn't understand the joke. Just look at the Euskaltel guy in the back, he's clearly not amused. |

What chrome-plated balls on that guy!
He says people we should ask questions of the people winning 10 years ago because they were doping WHEN HE JUST RODE THE CLIMB FASTER THAN ANYONE DID 10 YEARS AGO

Also I understand people saying Ten Dam is a suprise, heck I almost fell off the couch when I saw him dropping Contador.
But Mollema? Not really. Former Tour l'Avenir winner, improving each year. 4th in the Vuelta behind Cobo, Froome and Wiggins. This year mr consistency with top 5 placings in nearly every mountain stage he did... |

The thing is. No one in mainstream media is gonna call them out on it, maybe save for Paul Kimmage. But it's not like they are gonna let him get close enough to ask questions. And if someone is referring to doping when talking to the Sky guys, they are just throwing in the good ol' Armstrong line of, "we get tested all the time, we've never tested positive." And they get away with it. |

Good on Impey for fighting and Quintana for taking it to them today. As for the rest the most balanced preliminary piece I've read is this https://www.facebook.com/permalink.ph...3522034028
Plenty of (longer) climbs to come and analyse but plenty of questions to be asked too.
*Edit btw the newest models predictions based on post bio passport data for top 3's performances in GT's said predicted time for the final climb today = 24.17. That's about a minute down on Froome's time which is incidentally where the rest finished. Now given this is the biggest GT and that's the average of the top 3 not winner you might think he'd go a bit faster but that much faster...hmmm. Waiting for the longer climbs now and hoping to enjoy some more attacking along the way.

Wow this is ridiculous, seriously, these guys are destroying the fun of cycling, I have never wished so badly that something happened to them, a crash, a mechanical failure in a crucial time, but ffs, this has gone too far... I want a fun July, I want an exciting Tour, like it used to be, but right now? Nope. Not even once. |

Just managed to watch the highlights after I missed the stage earlier.
Wow.
I never knew people could cheat so blatantly and emerge from it protesting their complete innocence. Utterly sickening.
Quintana put in a good effort (bar his descending) and he seemed to be saying that he would do that sort of thing again to try and put pressure on Sky, which is good.
Bring on the Vuelta; where we might actually get some interesting racing for once.

Millar "believes" that Sky is clean (he says so) and also McEwen (not really a pro as he retired last year) said in Vive le Vélo that it's plausible. |

Apparently just a few brief words.
"We went up very hard, and I'm not in a good way at all. I have to thank Kreuziger, but I need to eat well and recover for tomorrow."
