Tour is now done and over! You can check results page for final results.
Spoiler Quintana was really close to catch Herrada. Who knows, maybe if there was one more mountain stage... Majka was 4'05" behind of podium. 4 minutes! Not only he finished 3rd, but also with a minute lead over other contenders. What a final stages from a Pole. |

7 years in the making, awesome to finally win le Tour!!
Herrada all around solid, even the time loss in the later stage is okay except for the time trial. The less is said about this outrageous performance of his the better - 2 minutes advantage thrown out of the window lol
Nice to see Majka on podium given he has much higher mountain stats than the competition.
Nairo fifth on Champs Elysses what a focus race for kbc though!

Unfortunately this concludes a very underwhelming race for us. Caruso in 12th is okayish but doesn't really bring a lot of points unfortunately. Other than that I'm mostly disappointed with a lack of breakaway impact from us, I guess Cambianca crashing out on the first stages didn't help. Silvestre wasn't bad with a few Top10s but all in all we were surely one of the 3-4 worst scorers of this race. Will be tough now to stay up.
Congrats to all the winners (Shonak in particular obviously ) and thanks for alle these great videos dominox!

Quintana beating van Poppel on the Champs-Élysées really says it all about our race. Pizarro got injured but rebouned in the last week to show he still has potential. Sad to see Goos do so well here though after he always crashed for me the previous years. And Danny is just a season of ups and downs. Congratulations to Shonak and all other managers who did something right here!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

KoM for Perichon, stage win and green runner-up for Bouhanni, can call this a successful Tour de France. Thanks dominox and congrats Shonak!

It was nice to see some top-10's in Portugal, but now Robert did even better and even won a stage, great stuff by our sprinter, first season win for him! Would be nice if he hold on to the green jersey.
Also, thank you Ripley for your answer to my question

Congrats to Herrada and Shonak, a deserved victory.
After the great TT (felt we were due some good TT luck) we threw everything at Herrada and he withstood it. When the KBC boys came to the front late in stage 19, for the first time in a MT stage all race, I thought we were going to win. Majka went beserk to give us something to chase and Quintana attacked like he needed to. But Herrada hung on like a champion. Quintana attacked again on stage 20 but that was more in hope than expectation.
I think we lost the race on Stage 16, should never have lost that much time on that stage.
Other than Quintana with that awesome sprint on the Champs, think the team hit a wall on 20, we lost a of places in the team comp and we weren't well positioned in Stage 21. And poor Kenyeres crashed out in Paris. Hopefully he was well enough to celebrate with the team later.
Those are very minor complaints. 2nd in yellow, first and 3rd in green, 4th in KOM, 5 stage wins and a handful of stage podiums. We put a lot of eggs in the TDF basket and they nearly all hatched.
Hopefully enough points to keep us safe since really only have competitive teams in Eneco and Lombardia the rest of the year.
Ton of thanks to Dominox for the reports and the video.

First of all, congratulations to Herrada and SHonak for the TdF. And thank you for the videos and the reports, I enjoyed those very much, although my schedule of late prevented me to comment around here.
Secondly, the results started to dry up for us. We need to deal carefully with the off-season so we can improve for the next season. At Volta a Portugal things went really well for my team for the first 4 stages. We snatched top 3 presences on 2 stages and Aredondo was on the 5th position in the GC. Then, bang, we had a disastrous 5th stage, with Aredondo finishing a little over 8' after the stage winner. I am not sure what happened but it blew up my hopes for a good result. Maybe we could salvage something in the stages to come but I am not putting much hope on it. Our team awaits with some anguish the rest of our focus races. We need to pull beyond our limits to deliver at least a couple of decent results. |

Thank you, dominox! What an unexpected comeback from Majka indeed, up to and including stage 17 he was losing time to his podium rivals on pretty much every stage, anything but 6th seemed out of the question. But the MTT, the Alpe-d'Huez-win and another fine performance on stage 20 were brilliant and turned things around. A TdF podium, amazing. Sadly, it wouldn't have been possible without Aru's crash, again, my condolences, krisa.
In his wake Tao also improved in those stages, sorry, jandal, and even Cav celebrated a comeback on the Champs Elysees.
Congrats to Herrada who has become quite the beast, beating Quintana is no easy feat. Though certainly Ulrich can be happy, too, he built the team for this race and was extremely successful.

Very pleased for you, a deserved winner with a long term project.
Thanks to dominox for the videos a great watch for the neutrals (Suntory got a stage win and 15th GC but I felt like a neutral!)

Good stuff from Illsanker in San Michel. He's been in good form recently.
Pity I can't say anything good about what was an exciting TDF. Dombowski dropped early, then Craddock and then they proceeded to join breaks on only flat stages! Don't understand how we never get a KOM contender or a stage contender (forget about winning those) from breaks. No grudges to the manager but I sold Parra and he goes on to win a stage here is just icing on the cake. Kreder tried for once but he isn't up to the standard of sprinting in this race. Nothing good to say about the rest really, except for maybe Svendsen's one breakaway ride where he looked promising for the future. Sorry to be so downcast after a race like this.
Congrats to Shonak and to everyone who had a good race
Thanks for the great coverage and pace dominox!

Robert doing a good job with another second place (on a hilly stage even) and now coming very close to winning the green jersey Hopefully he has a good final sprint in his legs in the last stage, and Quaade can finally show it was a good choice to train his TT stat in the penultimate stage.

finally some good stuff from Talansky. TT should protect 2nd place, but it will be hard to undermine GC win.

Don't quite understand why Gonçalves is so useless in Portugal, but well, he's probably below the AI's (extended) radar. However, amazing job by Nogueira to (hopefully) seal the KoM jersey! And still some hopes for a stage result in the ITT, let's see...

The 5th stage in Portugal was a killer for us. However, we did salvage something in the 9th stage with Aredondo going in a breakaway, collecting 33 points in the mountains classification there and finishing 8th on the stage. That brought a jump for him from 27th overall to 14th. We were going strong at the beginning and that makes me a bit sad for that loss of time in the 5th stage since now top 10 is really out of reach. I would have loved such a result but considering the ups and downs we suffered throughout the race I guess a top 15 can be mildly satisfying in the end. |
