Double Feature | THE END
Ian Butler
Jakstar22 - I thought so, too. Oh well Smile

sutty68 - Thanks a lot, after the disappointment, he realized he did a good job Wink

Ollfardh - Hoping to change that, soon Pfft

PCM rulezz - You're right, but after leading it for three days, it's bitter to lose it on the final day!

dienblad - Normally I find the AI excellent in mountain stages, but this one was weird, there was no escaping a mass sprint... Frown

Jesleyh - Thanks Smile

pcm2009fan - He sure was! Maybe Willy can return next year and take the win then!

I hope you'll forgive me for rushing through these final races. Most likely the next 3D race will be in the next season.
The reason for this is simple: I'm very anxious to round up this season and make the move to Team Argos - Shimano.

Hi, welcome!

Several news-items today. Sorry for the long absence, but we're so busy lately, planning our move to Team Argos - Shimano. We're going to move to the Netherlands and share a house there!

Vuelta à España

The Vuelta was an exciting battle in the first two weeks. El Pistolero made his comeback in style and took the upper hand in the final week.

World Port Classics

The first edition of the World Port Classics was quite a success. Stijn served Greipel, but once again he failed to deliver. The second day saw a large breakaway, making it to the finish. Though it be in several pieces.

National Team Selection

And finally, after much anticipation, the final selection has been made official. Let's have it!

Selected for the Road Race: Van Avermaet, Boonen, Gilbert, Leukemans, Roelandts, Hermans, Vansummeren, Vanmarcke, Devolder, Bakelants, Nuyens
Selected for the Time Trial: De Gendt, Monfort, Rosseler, Cornu, Devolder

Sounds like we've got a great team for the World Championships. Vanmarcke is the only real young rider, he should consider himself lucky!

Schedule News

Unfortunately, the speculation that we'd enter any more World Tour races turned out into nothing. Van Den Broeck and Vanendert will be taking our places at the Tour of Beijing and in Lombardia in an attempt to gain more points for the World Tour rankings. Normally we'd give a fuss, we have rights, too. But since we'll be joining Team Argos soon, we decided to leave it at that. We've already raced our last race for Lotto Belisol. We thank them for the opportunity, and now we will go on seperate roads.

We'll definitely let you know who won the World Championships. Well, most of you will watch it, but we'll give you the results anyway Wink

Stijn & Willy

Spoiler
Do you prefer that I race it, give a small summary of just give you the results? Neither Stijn nor Willy will enter the Championships

I don't mind, you might want to just give a summary if you really want to get on to next season with Argos Smile

What? How did that happen? Large break I think...

I would like a (small) report of the WC, but if you prefer not to, that's fine too.
Can't wait for Argos - Shimano anyway, but that one day doesn't make a huge difference I think Wink

There are some strange result: the World Port Classics, Paris - Bruxelles and the 5th place for palomares (like Jesleyh mentioned).
But anyway, Lotto did a good job with Jurgen and Jelle in spain.
Now, let's end this season and move to Argos Grin can't wait Wink

Oh man! that had to hurt. It just wasn't meant to be this year for Willy. Frown
edit: it's up to you if you would like to do a report about it we will happily read it! Smile

maxime86 - Will do Wink

Stromeon - Thanks!

Jesleyh - Large break in the 20th stage. Vuelta is always the place for weird results Pfft Sorry but there won't be a report about the WC. I'll start doing that when one of our protagonists participate Wink

PCM rulezz - I agree, I even doubted about posting the results because they were so weird Grin

JuanMotr - Really hurt, it even hurt me Pfft next year he can start with a clean slate Smile

rogvi97 - Sorry, already quick-simmed it!

I started writing down what transfers to edit but I then decided to let the game do its thing, mainly. There are some weird transfers, but the "impossible" transfers have been edited. Valverde and Wiggins going to Astana, unlikely, but possible, so I kept it. Quintana to Europcar, not likely, but they're now in the lead to promotion, so they could use him. Hope it won't bother you in the next season!

World Tour Rankings

We're both extremely busy, so we'll keep this short. You can always watch the full rankings on the internet, or on tv, right?

Andy Schleck won the UCI World Tour, I guess you could say deservedly, after winning Tour de France. Tom Veelers won the Continental Rankings, with an impressive 18 wins this season! A great team-mate to be!

Relegating teams are Euskaltel and AG2R. Promoting teams are Team Argos-Shimano and Acqua & Sapone, who overtook Team Europcar for the promotion in the Japan Cup, the final race of the season!

Anyway, our rankings are as followed:

Stijn Van Gent

In the World Tour Ranking, I finish on a 63th place, with 80 points.
In the SuperPrestige Ranking, I'm at a 32th place, with 891 points.

Willy Wouters

Unfortunately, I'm not listed in the World Tour Rankings, I plan to change this next year!
In the SuperPrestige Ranking, I'm listed 63th with 635 points.

The Move

And the move is a fact! We're now blogging internationally from The Netherlands! We're splitting a house here, with separate bathrooms but a common kitchen, both here with our girlfriends.

Willy's struck with the flu, so he's missed the first training, but he'll be all right for the first team training camp, which will be in Mallorca. We're both very keen on starting the season already, we feel like we're new all over again. At the moment, we're negotiating about our schedule for 2013. We'll let you know as soon as we know more!

There's nothing more to say except that we're extremely excited. We've met most of the guys already and the atmosphere is excellent! We might do a little team presentation later!

Thanks for supporting us all through last year, we can only hope you'll do the same this year! A big thanks from the Netherlands,
Stijn & Willy
