@TMM - I still believe in Wiles, on the longer climbs he was the best of the field. Puskaric is getting better, but it's still not enough. I hope Bahr will improve or else...
@fcancellara - He has a realistic chance at the rosa too... He is one of the better TTers.
@Ian Butler - Indeed, but he needs more than just hanging. |

Amgen Tour of California Stage 4
A bumpy looking profile, but the game considers it as flat, so most likely there won't be any difficulties today.
This time we didn't manage to get into the break, in which De Marchi got all the KOM points and took the lead in that classifiaction. The pack was riding calmly the whole day, but after the last climb GreenEdge caught the break almost alone, with a little help from Vacansoleil.
As the sprint was coming, Orica and TT1 made their sprint trains for Goss and Kocjan, but they weren't working. The winner came from a dutch team, it was....
Romain Feillu winning the stage for Vacansoleil! Great race so far by the dutch outfit winning another stage! Kocjan comes in 2nd, and Liquigas's Paterski comes 3rd.

Quiet day in California. Let's hope Zoltán will improve his shape throughout the stages, and will be able to compete against the very best

@jaxika - The next TT should fit Zoltán well, and the Mount Baldy too.
@andy222c - Indeed, he needs a lot of work, but he is doing better slowly. |

Today head further north, in one of the longest stages of the Giro. There is a really steep hill at the end of the stage, which should make some action at the end of the race.
Today's break was quite small one, consisting of only 4 people. Androni's Chiarini was the biggest name in it, he was certainly looking for the KOM points at the middle of the stage.
Probably because of the smallness of the break, it was a relatively easy task for Astana and Garmin, to chase the break down. These teams really wanted that sprint, before tommorow's hilly stage.
Unfortunately we have no picture of the final climb, but it wasn't a too exciting one with Wiggins pacing the peloton, his pace prevented the attacks. After the hill we decided to make a leadout train for Puskaric, and let him go for some points, as he was quite up there in the points classification.
At the last km mark, he was sprinting quite well, in the top 10, while Haussler and Farrar led the race. The Garmin duo started to tire at 500, and Cunego and Swift blew by them, with...
Damiano Cunego being the faster! Great sprint by the blondie, the hill really played into his hands! Swift comes 2nd, while Favili now officialy becomes a Maglia Rosso contender with this 3rd place. Our croatian, Puskaric finishes 8th, great result for him.

Amgen Tour of California Stage 5
A 30.5 km long TT will measure the shape of the favourites, it's going to make some differences, surely.
One of the first favourites out there was Steve Moore, and he decided to show us how to TT, finishing the course in 40'58! What a great time this was, destroying Bobridge's time with more than a minute!
Nobody came close to that time, except for one guy. It was only Andreas Klöden, who stopped Moore from winning, beating is time with 10 seconds!
Gary Sutton also did a great job in the ITT, finishing 9th after a great finish. Good job!

A short but bumpy day in the hills, we'll try to go with the attacks, that the others might make.
The break of the day was pretty big one, with great names, such as C.A. Sorensen ot Amets Txurukka. They built up a quite big lead, which peaked at 11 minutes.
The pace in the peloton was really slow, Sky was at the front, with Wiggins and Knees. They didn't think that there would be a need for a chase, and we didn't have the team to chase in the hills.
The break started the last climb with a lead of 6 minutes, and Txurukka and Chris Anker tried to attack, but their efforts weren't successful. The break stayed together throughout the climb.
The pack also started the hill, and right away several attacks came by Urán, Cunego and Antón, they were all chased down by Puskaric, who rode his own pace trying to gap the others. (with no luck)
The break started the sprint, Gutierrez took the lead, but Haussler seemed to be the fastest. Who will able to pull it off?
It was Haussler! Great win for the australian star, beating Gutierrez and Jeanesson on the line! Beautiful sprint!
The favourites finished together after Puskaric riding great, and the croatian won the sprint to the line too! He seems to be getting in shape, right on time! Just before the hard mountains......

@fcancellara - I don't really have the team to chase, they all die on the hill, except for Mellberg, who is always protecting. I hope Kristjan will be able to do it.
@sutty - Indeed, it was going pretty fast, and I'm glad that Gary is doing well in Cali. Hope he can keep it up.
