I expect another successful breakaway tomorrow. The mountain stages in the first week are often quite boring, without any real attacks.
When you have Contador they aren't
Where you have any rider with an attacking mind a certain superiority upon his opponents, they aren't, by your conception of "not boring". |

I wonder what Basso's plan is. He must be in geat shape considering his team's working so hard already. And I especially wonder if Rodriguez could win this Giro, I've only started following cycling since after he was suspended so I haven't really seen him in action too much. He seems like a strong climber, but I'd have to see it for myself.
You mean Basso, not Rodriguez, right?
I'd say don't expect too much from Basso until the last week. Cervinia will be the first place we'll be able to really see his form, as the coming two days aren't really mountain stages. Rodriguez might be seen tomorrow, but I still think he needs steeper climbs.
Yes, I mean Basso, it wasn't very clear in the text, excuse me.
I'd love to see him in action. Just like Valverde, but as I understand, he's more of a puncheur than a gc rider, am I correct? |

Well, Valverde won his last GT before his suspension. I still think he's better in the Ardennes, but he's a good GC rider.

Btw, there are bonus seconds tomorrow, same as usual 20-12-8.
There won't be on stages 14, 15, 17, 19 and 20.

This has been a very good Giro for South Africa so far, and had the break been pulled back it would have been even better.

Nice win by Rubiano!!! Very impresive. Dont think he would be able to try to defend the blue jersey tomorrow. |

I expected the peloton to race? I mean, why are teams like BMC or Farnese Vini here, if stages like this which should suit Ballan or Pozzato are being gifted to the breakaways? Had someone raced a bit hard, yesterday's stage could have been spectacular.

Who will win today? A BOTD or GC rider, the stage is a hilly stage right? |

No, is a supposedly mountain stage with a 15km long false flat, and a small bump in the last kms. I'll go for a late attack à la De Clerq last year.

Since I wasn't online, allow me to complain about Alex Rasmussen.
Aaaaaargh!
Good thing I have calmed down since Wednesday. |

Going to say a guy like Pardilla or Lagutin to take the win today.

Today's break, having a gap of over 9 minutes:
74 Matteo Rabotini (FAR) | 101 Fumiyuki Beppu (OGE) | 196 Reto Hollenstein (APP) | 219 Mirko Selvaggi (VCD) |
Hard to imagine the break will stick to the end. I'd bet on a last 2 km surge, on those 10% slopes. |

Hollenstein is the best ranked rider, 1:21 behind Malori. He might go for the leader's jersey, but I doubt they'll make it. |

I hope this stage will not be so boring like the yesterday's was. But i fear it will not be much better, maybe some 2nd tier climber could win it.
