Quintana to crack with Majka.
Pozzovivo, Uran and Evans the strongest of the GC riders with Pozzovivo finishing the best of them.
Would be surprised if Majka cracked tomorrow - although anything is possible and we haven't really seen the true form of the best contenders yet he does look in pretty good shape to me.

Why? Spoiler We've not really had any major selection on climbs yet and he's a decent TT rider and pretty good climber so was never going to lose major time today. Im guessing he will lose time on the major climbs later on, but to this point I wouldn't have expected him to lose much time. He won the race 2 years ago and last year was pretty much ruined, by injuries and sickness. Even if he was healthy, his form was pretty much ruined.
First, because I thought he'd take it easy and conserve energy for the stages, where he could land a win. After the massive time loss on the first stage, I thought it'd be impossible to go for a Top 10 GC but maybe he proves me wrong and still cracks the Top 10.
But also because he's still sorta a one-hit wonder for me personally, so I just underestimate him I guess. Giro Win, and what else? He had his moment of glory and good enough. I don't expect anything else from him at this point, at least no major victory. And I may be seriously underrating him right now, but to me he's just a former main role who turned into a shadow figure, similiar to Basso, except that guy has been around for far longer.
More importantly though: The occassional injuries and Garmin-esque bad luck (sigh) aside, I can not expect something of someone who hasn't shown anything since his biggest victory and thus he's not on my radar at all. How should I rate him, what should I expect of him? On the merits of what could have been, one the spoils that once were two years ago?

Thats a decent reason.
About the rest, well I mean 2008 -> Tour - Teammate for VandeVelde. VdV wouldn't have finished Top 5 without him.
2009 Tour He supported VdV and then Wiggins too and was quite good there.
2010 - 2nd @ AGR. Does really well at the AToC and then finishes 6th overall at the Tour finishing 3rd on major climbs behind the duo of Conta and Schleck.
2011 - Season Goal = Tour - Crash
2012 - Season Goal = Giro - Win
2013 - Season Goal = Giro - Crash, decides to go for the Tour. Crashes in prep race, starts feeling better for TDF but then crashes at TDF
2014 - Crash at Giro.
He's never been one to win many races, but he's fairly consistent and strong in the 3rd week of a GT.

GOD! Why does the Stelvio must be covered in snow everytime during Giro. It's absolutely stunning when its green and without the snow. |

Snow doesn't melt off the high mountains until the summer, if it does at all. As long as there's no fresh snow the road will be clear for the stage. |

Technically it's still winter in the Alps and technically Stelvio is on the border of the eternal snow line |

Best? I hardly think any ES commentator on cycling is best. They are just hired because they are well known.
Same as Ligget and Sherwan. 'Iconic' voices in cycling.

Safe to say the BOTD will make it. |

Stelvio is a summer ski area, there's always snow and it's good the way it is.

I said he's more of a puncheur, he can climb a bit too of course
My expectations on a really good day he'll come 3rd here and else between 5th - 10th.
OGE down to 3 riders. While both Hepburn and Tuft are suffering as well. That would leave Santa as the only rider in the team.
