World Championship Individual Time Trial
Podium
1) Tom Dumoulin
2) Primoz Roglic
3) Chris Froome
Dumoulin and Froome were the runaway hot favourites amongst our predictors and they did not disappoint. Everyone barring one member had Dumoulin as one of their picks while Froome was chosen by five. Runner-Up Roglic had two backers. And it was Roglic that made all the difference in this race.
With a perfect podium pick, Abhishek picks up the win and the double point bonus for this race. Selwink, the other Roglic backer, picks up second place, being the only one with Dumoulin and Roglic, but not Froome. Four members - Emre, Marco, Jandal and Aquarius - picked the Froome - Dumoulin combo and get tied third. Raziz had only Dumoulin while Croatia draws a blank.
The points update will be made after the World Championships conclude...

World Championship Road Race
Podium
1) Peter Sagan
2) Alexander Kristoff
3) Michael Matthews
Answer to Bonus Question 1: Which country will win the most medals in these three races? is Great Britain (Bronze medal in Team Time Trial, Bronze medal for Froome in Individual Time Trial)
Answer to Bonus Question 2: Among riders completing both ITT and RR, who will have the best aggregate position? is Vasil Kiriyenka (5th in Individual Time Trial and 15th in Road Race)
Three-peat achieved! Peter Sagan came from behind, almost out of nowhere, to pip Kristoff at the line and take his third World Champiionship in a row. As expected, he was the most popular pick with five members going for him. Kristoff was unlucky to lose out on the line in his home race. He had only one backer! Third placed Matthews was another popular pick, with four votes.
Four members - Selwink, Jandal, Raziz and Aquarius - all picked both Sagan and Matthews and tie for the win. Once again, it is only Croatia with a zero score. Marco picks up second place points for Kristoff while Abhishek's lone correct pick of Sagan gives him points for first.
In a turnaround of sorts, Croatia is the only one to get the first bonus question right. Great Britain picked up two bronze medals in these three races. No one picked Kiriyenka as the answer to Bonus Question 2.
Here is the leader-board after the World Championships have concluded:
Name | Races Entered | Bonuses | Total Points | Raziz | 36 | 435 | 1385 | AbhishekLFC | 36 | 420 | 1275 | Selwink | 33 | 515 | 1240 | jandal7 | 36 | 380 | 1165 | Marcovdw | 37 | 285 | 1055 | emre99 | 34 | 365 | 1045 | Aquarius | 31 | 255 | 1030 | purepasd | 30 | 320 | 1015 | Croatia14 | 37 | 320 | 660 | Ian Butler | 6 | 50 | 245 | Luxemburger | 7 | 90 | 165 | Squire | 4 | 60 | 100 | United Forever | 2 | 10 | 95 | trekbmc | 2 | 0 | 0 |
The World Championships have propelled Abhishek to second spot, while Raziz still holds on to a comfortable lead at the top. It can only take a minor miracle now for him to lose this! Jandal is the big loser this past week, points-wise, losing a lot of ground on the podium spots. Selwink is down a spot since the last update. Marco moves above both Emre and Purepasd, the latter's continued absence contributing to him falling behind Aquarius. Emre loses a spot and is under severe pressure to fall further behind after missing the Road Race. Croatia continues his lone battle at the bottom of the table. Everyone barring the latter have now crossed the 1000 point mark.
Just three races to go now...

It seems nearly impossible to defend my crown now but I hope to put in a late charge to maybe reach the podium.

The WC's weren't so amazing for me and some closed up, but I still have a strong lead especially with 3 races to go. Probably has been mostly luck to get to this point, nonetheless I'll take it |

As I'm taking responsibility for that bonus, just ask in the thread if you're not sure about a rider and I'll decide which they fall into
