Over on the CN forum one of Boardman's former track teammates, Daryl Webster, is excited that the 1998 EPO test positives are being revealed.
Apparently because he's convinced "the Boardman fairy tale is finally coming down"
We'll soon see if Webster's full of hot air
Being the best prologue specialist in the EPO era, and one of the best TTist around, even if his position on the bike was arguably the best around, is some sort of guarantee about it... |

A part from an interview with Mollema from the TdF edition from Belgian sport magazine I tought was worth sharing.
Mollema goes on and on about his stance against doping saying 'I don't believe Contador's steak-story", "Valverde doesn't deserve a place in the peloton anymore", "I don't think Sky are doping", "There are still a lot of obvious dopers in smaller teams, Reda and Santambrogio for example" (The interview was taken before Santambrogio's positive was official).
Then he starts to talking about pills, caffeine and vitamines saying he knows of one team that still uses Tramadol and crashes more than often. The interviewer then answered "Euskaltel-Euskadi". Mollema answered that 'It are rumours, I won't give their name'.
Quite funny to see a raboblankin rider saying that a lot of crashes are caused by tramadol. Just guessing but I suppose Belkin and Euskaltel are miles ahead of all other teams in a crash-count

Phinney said similar things a few months back. That we're back to the days of riders taking "Finish bottles", essentially crushed up Caffeine and Tramadol. Says he was offered it, so apparently BMC are big on it.

I'm still wondering why he points the finger at the bleeding carrots but thinks or rather say Sky are clean.

Who, Phinney? He's just completely clueless. Remember how two years ago everyone was criticizing him because he was defending Armstrong and praising Vinokourov?

Yes, I meant Mollema.
And I also remember about Phinney blocking everyone on Twitter who reminded him Leipheimer had a positive test in the late 90's. |
