Don't forget that last year Evans went with Brad and Chris up Belle Fille, then blew up in the 2nd and 3rd weeks... I doubt he'll stay with the main guys as we get further and further in.
And i still wouldn't count out Hesjedal for a good GC position. He had a bad day today, but there is still plenty of time to come back.
He had a virus back then. I dont think he will win. In 2011, he won due to his TT, now we had it, he has to rely on mountains. Nibali is better in the mountains I think
You don't get better at recovering with Age... that is probably the one big thing that gets worse with Age...
Added to that his lack of pre-Giro racing and it is doubtful he'll last over three weeks, especially if people start attacking
Nah in his case it is not about age...36 years old....Its not too old, not too young...Although I think Nibali is going to beat him in Mountains but I am cheering for Evans I love that he never give up...Anyway he came here to get his best for TDF and look at him = second overall...Not too bad... |

Phew, Kelderman finished in the peloton.
Lol at Betancur though
Betancur is going to win white tho. You do realise that? He's so much better in the mountains then Kelderman who also has to work for Gesink on top of things |

I realise that Betancur is a better climber, yeah.
Also, Betancur isn't that much better in the mountains, just a huge load better on the hills/shorter climbs
I realise that it's going to be hard for Kelderman, but it is possible in my books.
@Spilak Well, Betancur only rode 1 GT too. So, there is a difference, but not sure how big, and maybe Kelderman turns out to recover really good. I honestly don't know, can be really bad as well.

There's another TT.
But mountaineous. I think climbing ability is more important than TT then
Nah, the climb is not very hard. Wiggins could take plenty of time on Nibali there if he has a good day.
Like all tour last TT's and specialy kind of uphill. Wins a rider who is more fresh. |

Here are some pictures from Tuesday's climbs. Jesus, this is going to be carnage...
The final climb isn't too bad at first:
However, it gets absolutely horrendous from Sella Nevea onwards:
Not to mention Passo Cason di Lanza, which is almost insane:

Any similar descents? I know one guy who might have some trouble there.

Wiggins should start riding now.
There's a fine line between "psychotherapist" and "psycho the rapist"

For what little it's worth right now, the forecast for Tuesday afternoon is currently saying dry with a low chance of thunder... |

There's a long way from the bottom of the descent to the bottom of the final climb
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

So? I'm not saying Nibali will go solo, he's not dumb. But Astana has a few of those fast descending guys. Scarponi and Evans might still hang on, but guys like Gesink and Wiggo are toast if they go full on a wet descent |
