Frankiny randomly disappearing from the break is kinda indicative of how it's been following this for us. At least Inkelaar looks to be in a solid spot for the TTT to not drop out of top 20. Now he just needs to hold on for the last mountain stage!
Eg heard me saying we could use some more aggression and went for it. Looked like he has actually one of the strongest in the move, but just wasn't the right day for it as the favorites obviously wanted to control. He loses minor placings because of it, but can't be too mad for trying.
Olivier basically riding to expectations so far. If he can stay around where he is, I would be happy with it. That's a lot to ask for with the TTT though. We'll surely slip quite a bit there since TTs are far from a strength. Need a strong stage tomorrow to set us up for it.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy
Giannoutsos rode that final climb extremely conservative, and it worked great today. At one point it seemed like he was having a bad day. Fingers crossed he Can deliver a good result tomorrow to stand a realistic shot of taking a top 5.
Not a bad race for us so far, with Peak having another solid if unspectacular performance, a surprise Gavars win and Wenzel racking up some points from his days in the U25 jersey.
Was hoping for slightly more from Ardila on the mountain stages, but realistically this was always going to be his least suited race this season. He'll lose a lot in the TTT but if we could get a top 15 it'd be an acceptable enough race, and it'd be great if he could get some points on the final road stage.
Quite anonymous from us until stage 6. McNulty not really visible in the first stage rated mountainous but now put himself into a great position almost beating Bernal to the line. We brought a strong TTT setup here so for stage 7 it is about not losing substantial time to the other favorites. Thanks for the reports so far Ulrich!
