Guess stage 6 was always going to be the Queen stage here, but basically no gaps so far, definitely puts the pressure on all those needing gaps. Curious to see what racing we get on stage 6.
Very happy to have Sarreau join the breakaway! And even claiming some KoM points was a bonus. Fingers crossed he and/or other from us can continue to be aggressive and try to join the breakaways on the remaining stages, except the TT. |

Not sure what van den Broeck is doing attacking, but that was rather poor from Remco.

Bagioli 93rd is a joke, not sure what is going on with hilly stages so far. Perfect finish for him, but the same could be said for a rider like Vansevenant.
Dunbar there or thereabouts with Plapp and Evenpoel is good. Hopefully they can drop some of the pure TT riders tomorrow.
Thanks for the report and congrats Ryan!

Very strange selection of riders attacking at the front towards the end there. Some perfectly suited to the finish, some not even remotely suited to it.
I'm not very encouraged by Skjelmose being back around 50th position on the stage. He was not very alert to gaps and almost certainly would have been dropped significantly if there were any. He got lucky today, but it doesn't bode well for tomorrow, when there will almost certainly be gaps. Maybe the parcours favor mtn a bit more which helps him, but I'm definitely scared. I think he kind of needed an earlier TT to put him in a solid position already, or the game might forget about him until it's too late.

Nice breakaway action from Ruiz, a shame he just missed out on the jersey, but it was certainly a nice battle to witness. Hopefully he (and/or Yamamoto) go look for more points in the remaining stages. And then ideally Lopez Nolasco can get an okay final result in the GC.
Congratulations on the win ryant, and thank you for another great report!

Given how poorly we have performed here, I would have expected to see us join the early break. Unfortunately not. Nice to see Kinoshita not being completely dead although it amount to almost nothing.
Interesting late attack by Karatsivis. Let’s see more of that please!

Another good stage from MVD. He's really delivering above expectations here so far! Stage 6 will be huge in terms of GC aspirations for both him and Zmorka, if they can hang on with the lead group.
Congrats to ryant and thanks for the report!

Bit worrying that Aleotti is not even trying to compete there. Hope that changes soon.

Yeah... Zmorka with 66 Hill makes the split. Fernandes and Setiawa with 70+ Hill don't. I really love how PCM24 gets those realistic results based on actual rider skills. Ah, wait...
Good that we're out for next year, and I should actually stop following races altogether.

Wow, this is bad. Such a huge group is way too large for our likings. Very bad for Plapp that guys like Zmorka or Bjerg made that (non)selection.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Some time lost today for both MVD and Zmorka but both are still in with a decent shout of a good GC spot. The team did well to protect 66 hill Zmorka while MVD has been handling himself rather well anyway, something which we were hoping to achieve with his training path.
Congrats to jandal, Pidcock finally decided to show up
Thanks for the report!

Its nice to see Muller land a podium spot, but overall the way these hilly stages are resulting is pretty frustrating with the lack of gaps. There are probably enough races where GC is decided based on the TT as it stands. Thanks for the reporting to this point KB!

Finally we showed ourselves. Not ideal to drop Kiriakidis and Ioannidis, but they didn't drop entirely, so still a decent shot for them to chase a top 20 GC, to make this a reasonable race. But they can't afford to miss out - otherwise we will have a horrible tripple-header.

Worst possible outcome for Remco. Lost time to the puncheurs and didn't gain any on the time trialists. Even a top 10 seems hard to achieve to now.

From the GC, 3 in top10 you could actually think it is a successful race for me... Though the TT will drop them all, while there were no big as expected stage points so far.
Disappointed how Vansevenant didn't attack once on 3 stages. This time at least gapped some while staying behind Denz pulling. Still far too less of a gap and he really should have attacked alongside Pidcock for the stage win.
Sprints on hills appear to be far too much about early positioning which is not ideal really.
Thanks for the report. |

You'd expect a guy with 79 mtn and 73 hill as leader to be able to hang on to a big peloton, but sadly the AI never hought of him as a leader. And even more sadly is that the KoM-jersey seems to be almost impossible now I fear. Nice win for Pidcock!
Thank you for the report, kb!
