Xero everywhere! Congratulations again, jandal. Massive and unexpected wins, at least that they come in this way.
Not much for us there. Had hoped for a well positioned Romo, but we somehow got Donovan instead. A top 10 is fine. Fingers crossed we get to see the attentive/aggressive Romo again!
And thank you again for the reports and pace they come with! |

This was a stage Rodenberg survived last year and one of the reasons we brought him. This year he loses 20 minutes. Maybe part of that was about bringing Aranburu who was favored by the AI to receive top billing, but had nothing for an unselective finish and a downhill sprint. Maybe stage 6 should favor him, or at least I hope so. So far the puncheur stages have mostly been for outsiders, and the gamble of bringing him here has not paid off. But it's good that Skjelmose is safe.

Great to see Remco so aggressive even though it didn't mount to anything.

Xero and Specialized are stealing the show here. Congrats guys.
Hilly stages all ending in bunch sprints is worrying. Despite being on the upper hand here (Rodrigues would surely suffer in a more selective puncheur stage), I feel a stage ending after a cat. 1 climb shouldn't be ending in a 100+ rider sprint.

Every day Reis finishes in the front group is a good day for us.

Good sprint by Carboni.
Leknessund still 2nd in GC. We need to make sure he's not caught in any shenanigans tomorrow.

This race is just not going our way is it the TT and Mountain stage could turn things around slightly for us but I think the GC fight is definitely gone.
Congrats to the winners so far and thanks for the reports!

I'm struggling to understand what my team is doing at this race.

Wellens on stage 3 was kind of ignoring anything and riding his anonymous gruppetto race. Unfortunate as he seems to not go for it here due to 2 easy hill stages, that even sprinters were able to survive.
GC wise this is a big blow obviously.
Guerreiro doing well obviously being in 1st group twice and 3rd even on the latest stage, which again had some leadout/support rider staying ahead in the sprint issue though, which is a long long PCM struggle apparently.
Though he might struggle quite a bit on the climb depending on how it`s ridden. Top10 still the goal I guess.
Vesely with a less successful 2nd sprint here. Needs to improve.
Thanks for the reports and congrats to the winners. |

Nice sprint by Leknessund! He's in a good position going into the crucial final two stages.

Everything will be decided and the MTF, then. And what a trio that looks the best for the GC as it stands now, looking at Evenepoel, Leknessund and Plapp. Should be a super interesting TT, especially with the final hill, and then the showdown on Torre
Looking a lot forward to it as a spectator. Unfortunate we couldn't make anything from these hilly stages. We can't say Romo didn't try, because he clearly did, but just not strong enough is fair, I guess |

Fantastic stuff from Remco. Finally getting that stage win. And being on the podium on all classifications shows how good this race has been for him so far.

Reis in the front ten with 1.5k to go, still ends up losing nearly a minute. Just when things were looking great

oh, both Evenepoel and Leknessund with additional bonus seconds is super dangerous. Dont like that at all.
To look at the positive side: At least the GC podium is still very much realistic and we took the lead in the teams classification.
Kennett still in yellow. What a race for spezialized!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Oof, Yates has no business losing 55 seconds and finishing outside the top 50 on a finish like that. Particularly after he made the front group on stage 2. That stage should have favored him against the less punchy climbers and looks like he was just caught too far back. Given his TT weakness we couldn't afford to lose stupid time.
Will need something special to get anything out of this race now.

I guess De Plus had a total offday then. Stage results are nice, but we also need GC results to stay in.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Remco winning is the only scenario that might put Kennett's green in doubt, but he unexpectedly held onto yellow for another day so that will alleviate that a little bit if it ends up happening.
Congrats to Alex on a great win for Remco and thanks for the report once again!

Really not liking what I'm seeing from the AI so far. Too early for panic stations or demanding returning to older games, but just making a note of it.
Thanks Imladrik for delivering some great reports even with weird racing
