Congrats Alex! Always liked DVP, glad to see him get the win.
Arifin stamping his authority on the KOM is awesome A shame he couldn’t hang on to the others, but hopefully another good day in the break for him and he can secure the KOM.
Totally forgot Tenorio was here. Maybe he can get in the break tomorrow and look after Arifin

What a stage that was from an Aker perspective AHJ being strong in the breakaway, fighting for the win against what should be better riders, and climbing to a GC top 10. Then Novak doing his best and defending a GC top 10. Super happy with the outcome
Really hope one or them can defend that top 10, and hopefully the other can also hang on for dear life, securing us depth points. Then there was also Peak hanging on to the jersey for a bonus day, we are happy to take that as well
Thank you for the report, sean. Must say I enjoy the text blocks, as it really gives a feel of the race.

Not happy about letting the break get away with it. That costs a ton of points ...
At least we seem to control the GC situation nicely...
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Olivier was solid on stages 2 and 3, without being too spectacular. Alben again in the thick of things in the stage 4 sprint. Great outing for him! Great to see Olivier gain time on a couple of those above him in the GC on stage 6, without gain in the rankings though. Hopefully he can finish it off well.
Congrats to the stage winners and thanks for the reports!

Thanks for the kinds words, guys! Eden, I know you are a fan of Danny
It looks like sean was sitting on a gold mine for us. The race really turned into a great one for us in only 2 stages. I wasn't expecting the breakaway to be let to take the win here, but it makes sense since none of them were putting in danger the first place in the GC.
Great to see Champoussin take his first pro win in his first season maxed out. It would be amazing if he could also hold on to a top 10 place in the final stage, but even if he doesn't do it, he should finish with a pretty decent place in the GC.
Also, this type of performance from him really gives me hope he can pull off stuff like this in the Tour de France as well.

Hopefully Phinney can climb another spot. Being passed by Padun is not what I expected. Obviously not his perfect race here but even without a TT he ideally stays ahead of 80-82 climbers except the very best in that range e.g. Pogacar. |

Congrats again, alex! If young Clement needs a new home you know who to call
On the other side I only can hope Ranaweera (and probably three teammates) will be in the break tomorrow, because if today's result isn't part of a tactical masterpiece I don't know how he could justify finishing 63rd on this stage ...

Congrats to Knockout, PHL delivers as expected, although those big breaks reduced the stage scoring. Nice ride by Ardila contrats to Jaxika on the stage win.
10th by Yates isn't bad or good, probably around expected. Had hoped the steep climb might suit him but that wasn't the case.
Thanks for the reports Sean.

Great ride by Ardila. Winning the stage and going up to GC top10, and minor points from points, kom and white come handy.
Congrats Knockout! And thanks for the reports! |

Olivier didn't really do much in the race. He had one good stage, which helped to secure the 6th place he had been holding since the first mountain stage. Bit disappointing that we didn't get anyone into the breaks on the mountain stages. There were enough good candidates. Good 3rd in the U25s from Leemreize and some decent depth scoring in the GC is what we get from this one. Lost a place in the Teams on the last stage, which is a reflection of how bad that stage was for us.
Congrats to knockout on the convincing win. Was some time coming! Also to jaxika on the stage. Thanks for the great reports sean Great to have you back.

Sorry to not keep up with the reports in real time!
Stage 5 was solid. Carthy looked good early but faded a bit in the end. Still pretty much where we expected him to be.
Stage 6 as also okay, although it feels like we let the race get out of hand a bit as the breakaway riders feel back. Okay in the end though with Carthy finishing 8th. Sucks to lose out to Ardila who was in the break back to back days, but our team just wasn't strong enough to keep that gap, and he's an exciting young rider.
In the end, 8th from Carthy is about right, and 21st from Gregaard is solid in a field as strong as this one too. After the Giro, I can't ask for more overperformances from Carthy. So solid performances like this where he can pick up a few more minor points are perfectly fine.
Congrats to Evonik and thanks for the reports seancoll! Really appreciate you sticking with it.

That was huge!
Was a bit afraid seeing Phinney being the first to attack. But he had a good day and was basically only beaten by Lecuisinier, which is absolutely fine.
Must have been one of, if not the best prue climbing performance by him this season so far. And luckily all this acceleration led to huge gaps and him jumping up to 2nd in GC making this a fantastic GC performance without a TT.
Stage wise unfortunately not showing as much due to the break riders in the mix.
Thanks for the reports and congrats for the favourite win! |

Ouch! After yesterday's masterclass by AHJ and solid riding by Novak, today was a disasterclass Didn't expect Novak to drop out of the top 10, and also AHJ loosing white. Chapeau Ardila and congratulations jaxika on the stage win and jersey, though. Fantastic racing and points for Ardila!
Have to say though, even with such a finish, this was a fun race to follow! Evonik got the expected GC win with PHL, eventhough I'm sure they would have wanted more stage glory too. For us it looked like a sensational race after stage 5, with a GC more like expected, maybe even slightly below for Novak, now at the end. Though, we had lots of ups and highlights during the race, which was very cool to follow.
Thank you for the reports, seancoll! And congratulations to the winners, but also to roturn on a massive Phinney comeback on that final stage. |

Congrats to jaxika for a commanding win from the break as well as knockout for a favourites win overall! Also big thanks to sran for the great reports!
It would have been a really good race for us wasn't it for Ranaweeras inexplicable bust in stage 5, but Pinot showed our colours nicely in the last stage and both of them finishing in the GC top 25 with Hodegs good sprints in addition still makes it a solid race for us.

This describes my feelings quite well. PHL was incredibly strong here and i love to see that - his GC victory never felt in doubt which is great to see after the earlier Liechtenstein failure. I had hopes for more points though with more stage success which would have resulted in e.g. a better haul in the minor classifications (KoM/team) as well. Despite that, i have to be happy with the race.
Thanks for all the congrats along the way. And thanks for some great reports

Luckily we had two good stage results to compensate the lack of GC here.
Thanks sean for the reports and congrats knockout!
