Great sprint by Bauhaus. Very well done.

Was already confident seeing one of my riders in the sprint forming, a bit less confident when he couldn't really make ground but at one point he suddenly came closer to the front when anything looked possible.
Podium and stage points. Going to take it.

Thanks for the report.

Yeah... We're in our 3rd year of PTHC racing now, and so far have failed to win either a classic or even just a stage. Ekoi needed barely more than a month to do both, so we're definitely doing something wrong. Congrats on the stage win!

Obviously disappointed by Bol here. Somehow PCM sees him as the #1 favourite, but then he gets neither support nor decent positioning. Seems like backups matter for picking the favourites, but not at all in-game. Positioning was awful - as it has been far too often last year - so 10th place was all he could get with the roads being less wide than last year. Sprints still are just one big lottery, and so far we haven't been the lucky ones. Hopefully that's yet to come ^^

Onto the important stages then, with Schmid hopefully doing something good on the next two stages, whereas Darbellay should be a lot more attentive again than he was on S4.

Thanks for the report!

Nice try by Yates to try and create some gaps on the final climb but it was not to be. Summit finish tomorrow will hopefully knock out a few other riders. Congrats to Fab, Schmid performing as requested, also to KB for another win in Stage 4.

Thanks for the reports.

Good to see Hocevar in the break and taking points. Hopefully we can keep trying there as the GC is now gone.

Congrats to Fab and thanks for the report!

Nothing for us on that sort of finish, but it was nice to see Galta attentive when things got tense on the climbs.

So the stage win is done, congrats on that! Also great to see Schmid taking his first win as well, it should be a great day for you!

Our team went fully back to anonymous mode, let's hope for some breakaeay appearance(s) in the remaining road stages.

Also thanks to sean for the great reports!

No result, but some good offensive riding there, good job!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Nice win for Jura! Smile Pidcock also still very strong, so Xero also scoring some good point here I reckon. Most important for us was once again to see Eastman holding on. One more stage and it's hopefully his time to show his skills as well.

Thanks for the great report, sean!

Banana Mauro! Banana

Me: We're still waiting for our first PTHC win, that's getting nasty...
Mauro: Hold my beer...

This was one of the stages I had in mind for Bol as one of the best punchy sprinters here - but the team decided it was better to go for Mauro. To be honest, I thought he'd not even get a Top 10, starting his sprint so early - and I never imagined that Pidcock wouldn't get past him this time!
But yeah, he just did it, he got us the first win of the year, the first PTHC win - and his first career win on top of that! Fantastic job!

But I still hope that he'll not be picked as our GC rider, given that he'll lose a lot of time on the final two stages. But Darbellay finishing barely inside the Top 100 is definitely worrying, hopefully he'll be more attentive on S6!
Not sure whether Viana do Castelo will still be one for the hybrid puncheurs like Schmid or even more so Valter, or if the climbers will already have the upper hand. Hoping for the former of course Pfft

Thanks for the congrats, and thanks to sean for the report!

Bit of a frustrating one with that corner. Didn't expect it but no chance of Pidcock winning really so wish it was said a kilometre earlier that the guy on the right would definitely win to not get my heart racing Pfft:lol: However all the riders rode the same route so can't say it's unfair at all. Cool to see a rider I really like in Schmid taking the win and for Jura to break their PTHC duck is very nice, congrats Fab Grin

Getting yellow is nice but Rosenborg doing very well and keeping green and missing out on the extra seconds and the stage win points is really annoying. Really need to take green (likely) a win tomorrow (unlikely), a super duper final two stages from either Pidcock or Fouche (very unlikely and very very unlikely) and keeping green over Phinney (nearly impossible) to be satisfied with this race and with using 8 Pidcock RDs here.

I had vague hopes that Uwizeyimana might score a solid-ish GC result, which doesn't look all that likely anymore but maybe with the TT and the final mountain stage, he can climb at least back into the Top 50, maybe in the Top 30 range if everything goes perfectly. With that, breakaways are our best hope, so it's good to see Moise Mugisha collecting a few points from the mountain classification standings. If he can go again in the upcoming stage, maybe he can get the jersey.

Otherwise I'm hoping Ndayisenga or Teuns can do something in the final mountain stage. Teuns was at least near the front in this previous hilly stage, which was good, even if nothing came of it. Fun to see Willems starting to compete in sprints, too, although of course he isn't at the level yet to actually score meaningful points.

Thanks for the nice reports so far sean!

Very far from ideal regarding Valter's GC chances. Obviously a risk going here, unfortunate that there are no gaps whatsoever, really. Fingers crossed he and others make the most of the final hilly stage. That should be the one best suited to Valter's abilities too.

Must hope for the day of his life in the mountains on the final day, then, to bring home a top 15 or so in the GC. The TT will be proper pain Pfft

No gaps on the hilly stages mean Yates needs a sound TT and a strong stage 8 to have hopes of decent points. A little surprised they let the break take the win, at least we managed to be in it this time thanks to a nice ride by Daniel.

Thanks for the reports.

Not much to see here. Once again Galta's near the front and even could have gotten a decent stage result had the break come back. Now everything really hits the fan.

Argh what a report! Thanks seancoll, great coverage of the breakaway fight. I didn't believe in Jams against Shirota especially on the uphill finish, then he looked good, then he didn't, then it seemed like he'd come back but it wasn't to be. Love that ride from him though and obviously happy to see Shirota win. Pidcock moves into green but won't keep it probably even through tomorrow with Phinney, and nice to keep yellow and white today to briefly hold three jerseys and keep some minor points ticking through.

Now all about what magic we can muster up in the mountains between Pidcock and Fouche.

Unfortunate that Mugisha didn't have his best day. Attacking first towards a mountain sprint is always a risky proposition. In hindsight, with the breakaway getting to the finish, having Velasco or Ndayisenga in there to fight for the win would've been better, but if that had happened and they didn't score, I might've complained about how Mugisha should've been in the breakaway Pfft It's good that he tried. Hoping for another successful breakaway with our participation on the final stage, then!

Argh, had high hopes for the stage ein before the stage, but we will leave without anything after Kragh’s prologue win.

Not surprised to see a breakaway finally make it, I’d say it makes perfect sense in such a race, just had other hopes for us Pfft Though, to only have 11 riders loose time on such a finish is a surprise, but also kind of how the AI treats such stages.

Thank you for the report, sean, and congratulations to Sony! Grin
