If we switch R11/13 and 12, it'll be the same order as R3 so top to bottom again, which I was trying to avoid.
But yeah, I haven't heard much support for the switch, so I think I'll just keep it as it is.

Yeah that's kinda sad. For him as well, I think he was close to a breakthrough year and this is a potential career ending injury.
Anyway, 24 hours to go, don't miss the deadline!

Draft Rounds 7-10
Four rounds this time. Unfortunately the Bombers missed the deadline, but their picks will be edited in asap. Rounds 7 and 8 a lot of people got lower choices on their list, but R9 and R10 we had a lot of top picks again. Hope I didn't make any mistakes, but I'm 0/2 so far so make sure to check!
| Macros | Hornets | Racoons | Cobblers | Fainthearts | Zondagcoureurs | Bombers | Red Lanterns | Hussars | 59'ers | Ice Tulips | Spokes | Rogues | W | R7 | KRISTOFF Alexander | VAN GESTEL Dries | WILLIAMS Stephen | ACKERMANN Pascal | HOFSTETTER Hugo | TAMINIAUX Lionel | | CAMPENAERTS Victor | TILLER Rasmus | DAINESE Alberto | JOHANNESSEN Tobias Halland | WAERENSKJOLD Soren | SEGAERT Alec | VAN ASBROECK Tom | R8 | ADRIA Roger | DUJARDIN Sandy | LEMMEN Bart | VAN MOER Brent | DE KLEIJN Arvid | ANIOLKOWSKI Stanislaw | | STRONG Corbin | MONIQUET Sylvain | ALBANESE Vincenzo | FUGLSANG Jakob | FRISON Frederick | BRAET Vito | MOSCHETTI Matteo | R9 | GODON Dorian | COQUARD Bryan | WALSCHEID Max | WATSON Samuel | GAUTHERAT Pierre | DE BONDT Dries | | VALTER Attila | DE BUYST Jasper | ZIMMERMANN Georg | VAN DEN BERG Marijn | LAMPERTI Luke | THEUNS Edward | BALLERINI Davide | R10 | CARAPAZ Richard | CHAMPOUSSIN Clement | BUITRAGO Santiago | HIGUITA Sergio | CAPIOT Amaury | MOSCON Gianni | | GARCÍA CORTINA Iván | LUTSENKO Alexey | CAVENDISH Mark | VLASOV Aleksandr | NARVAEZ Jhonatan | TURNER Ben | BJERG Mikkel |
For the next round, forget about the position switch, no one seemed to like it. I need you to send in:
R11: A rider from the country with most riders after R10 (your pick in case of a tie)
R12: A rider from your home nation
R13: Free pick
Please get these in by friday noon. Final rounds will be:
Spoiler R14: A rider from your home nation or a country bordering it (pick only one country)
R15: Free pick
R16: Free pick

After seeing Capiot's victory in Oman this morning, perhaps he was more suited than Moscon. But who knows, if Moscon finds his old legs again he can still be useful. With Taminiaux and Aniolkowski we have two sprinter who could do well and could be active in multiple Belgian/French races, but they're both of course not a certainty for points. De Bondt could deliver a bit as well if he continues his form of the last two years and goes to the 'right' races

With my first round pick done already and a busy week I kind of just let it slip. I'll try to get picks in, but if not just autodraft randos for me once everyone else has their teams.

Well, I got 1-2-1-1 from my list this time - but is this a good sign?
Definitely going for quantity instead of quality this time - I prefer having someone in every race rather than having "top shots" who can score well in 1-3 races. I had some great stage racers last year, but they didn't really deliver lots of points...
Hofstetter had some great races in the early season last year, he'll hopefully deliver this year again. He might share leadership with Ackermann, but I obviously hope for the Frenchie to be their primary sprinter (the latter was #3 on my list btw).
De Kleijn won Milano - Torino last year, and had Top 10s in Criquielion, Tourangelle and Veenendaal - all of which aren't part of the calendar. Still, I hope he'll do lots of races this year and get some results - for example, he didn't race at all in April 2023, no clue why. Feels like a solid pick. Although given that Dujardin and Adria were picked after him, maybe I should've waited to pick him in the free round...
But even if Dujardin, Godon or Coquard had still been there in R9, my #1 pick was Gautherat. Looks like a punchy sprinter who can also handle some easier cobbles - 7th in Samyn last year, 9th in Pays de la Loire, and some more Top 15s. 2nd in Ceramica and 4th in Marseillaise this year, plus 6th in Provence - looking forward to see what he can already achieve this year!
And finally Capiot. After a great 2022, he missed out on more than half of 2023 with a knee injury. Latest results suggest he's back to a good level - winning a HTF stage today doesn't sound too bad. He should do all the cobbled classics, and hopefully some hills as well.
So, I guess we have some kind of depth now, but the potential winners definitely are lacking. Especially for the hills. Let's try to somewhat fix that in the final rounds

R7 was a tough one, as expected. Segaert is a bit of a wildcard here, but he might get a bump up with Vermeersch's injury. Braet has quite some potential. Theuns should be a solid scorer in the smaller races. R10 was (after the taken riders were gone) a close call between Moscon and Turner, but in the end I decided to pick youth. But I have a very young team now!

R11 should be the country with most riders across all teams or your own?

Overall pretty happy with this last set of rounds though, especially Narvaez

Deadline in less than 24h. I fear we may have lost the Bombers, so don’t wait for that list.

Draft Rounds 11-13
Even with 2 teams missing the deadline, people were getting screwed over left and right. Especially the 3 Belgian teams didn't help each other. Here are the results, hoping to add the Bombers and Hussars soon.
| Macros | Hornets | Racoons | Cobblers | Fainthearts | Zondagcoureurs | Bombers | Red Lanterns | Hussars | 59'ers | Ice Tulips | Spokes | Rogues | W | R11 | KIELICH Timo | SENECHAL Florian | SCHELLING Ide | LOUVEL Matis | BARGUIL Warren | FRETIN Milan | | ROTA Lorenzo | HERMANS Quinten | MILAN Jonathan | DVERSNES Fredrik | SIMMONS Quinn | BERCKMOES Jenno | CICCONE Giulio | R12 | BARDET Romain | VAN TRICHT Stan | KELDERMAN Wilco | TULETT Ben | BISSEGGER Stefan | ALLEGAERT Piet | | MEZGEC Luka | MAYRHOFER Marius | CORT Magnus | BAX Sjoerd | SHEEHAN Riley | BIERMANS Jenthe | FORMOLO Davide | R13 | EEKHOFF Nils | DE POOTER Dries | VERMEERSCH Gianni | SCHACHMANN Maximilian | GENIETS Kevin | YATES Simon | | LAZKANO Oier | ARANBURU Alex | VENTURINI Clement | ALMEIDA Joao | ULISSI Diego | SVRCEK Martin | SIVAKOV Pavel |
For the final rounds, I need:
R14: A rider from your home nation or a country bordering it (pick only one country)
R15: Free pick
R16: Free pick
Deadline is next Tuesday, noon 12h CET again. After that, we start with the selections for the Opening Weekend.

The Hussars draft:
R11: HERMANS Quinten
R12: MAYRHOFER Marius
R13: ARANBURU Alex
Let's all boo the Hussars for ruining my plans!

Wow yes, Sivakov was a long way down my list. And some unfortunate invasions into Italy by our neighbors.

Can't be too unhappy again, I guess, although I don't know what it's worth getting some riders pretty high up on the list...
Barguil was my #1 again. He said that he'll do the classics this year and Bardet the GTs, so I hope he'll have more participations than two years ago. Where he got the first win for my team - without being nominated, though ^^
In round 12, I could even just have sent one name, just sent to because you never know... Bissegger was the obvious pick there. He was unlucky with an early season crash last year, and he'll tackle the cobbles again in 2024. Hopefully more successfully!
For round 13, would've preferred Milan or Sheehan, but Geniets looks fine too. Some good form this year already, and for R12 expectations aren't huge anyway. Can live with that pick I guess.
Will be interesting to see the names people will come up with in the final rounds, I was already struggling here... But that's partly because I'm trying to avoid stage racers this time ^^
I think the Spokes had a pretty good round, and the 59ers potentially as well.

Agreed ... Still happy with my previous rounds at least. I hope Milan can do well and that Venturini provides me some coverage for the French races. Cort has potential, I think, but could also do very little.

Happy with Berckmoes, but I was hoping Fretin mostly. For R13 I really wanted Lazkano, but again, too slow. A lot of potential riders for the final rounds gone as well, it will be hard to get 3 more useful riders.

My sincerest apologies. Also, boo Hussars!
Allegaert also in our team last year, he wasn't the biggest man, but on a good day he could have a surprise result in a good scoring race I hope. Think that makes three Cofidis riders on my team, luckily Cofidis is known for winning a lot of races.
