Hopefully Blythe can add some much needed points.

Thanks everyone for the kind and encouraging words. We had an interesting transfer window, and might I say rebuild. We feel like this team is capable of achieving our ambitions and are working towards a surprising season for Wilco and Rafael. Now, to start off our final transfer update, we will start with our final transfer deal. We had some cash left and couldn't stop thinking about this rider. And with no bias at all we happily announce the aquisition of Andorra based rider Oscar Cabanas! We were able to sign him for a cool €60.000. He provides the last piece of the domestique puzzle, and of course with a first name like that how couldn't I. Welcome Oscar!
An unexpected overbid meant we had some extra wage laying around, which meant we could pick up two more free agents instead of one. One of them is Luxemburgish veteran Kevin Feiereisen who joins for the minimum wage. He will provide some (hopefully) extra point scoring as our third sprinter. And with two more years left in him, he is a nice added bonus to our micronation collection.
And, for the cherry on top, a San Marino legend finally comes home! We debated a long while if we should or shouldn't go for him. But because of his legacy we couldn't say no. Paolo Scarponi joins us for maybe on of his last seasons in the professional peloton. He will ride mostly as a domestique, but will pass on his knowledge to the next generation duringn training! Welcome Paolo!
And to finish our season we had two stagaires coming in. Rino Quadrelli was the second and last neo-pro to join the peloton from San Marino. He will try and prove to use if he deserves a full time contract next year. But his profile attracts us alot and we are sure he will be able to convince us!
And to finish our team off. A first for us, as we sign our first female rider! Llucie De Maigny Lagesse joins us on a stagaire contract. She has a very interesting profile and as a Mauritian was very appealing to our sponsors. We look forward to seeing her ride in the peloton and fight in the Emerald Green!

And now would be aa good time for some statistics. I had said that I would aim for around 75% of our team to consist out of regional riders. Well, with 76% I think we achieved that goal .
Out of 25 riders, only 6 are African.
But 15 are from Micro nations. Two Micros are also African
Out of all Nationalities we have the most Sammarinese with 6
Two Maltese, Moroccan, Luxemburgish, Eritrean, Belgian, and Andorran gives us a nice spread of Nationalities.
All in all, I'm happy with the transfer window. I was able to get more decent riders than expected, even though we did miss out on some others. Both in a roleplay, and competitive angle I'm satisfied. And I can't wait to get the season started and share my goals and calendar with you guys. I'd like to wish everyone good luck for the coming season and have fun!

That's a very nice set of leaders you've got there. Here's to hoping the new game treats Kelderman better than the last one

A team that can survive for sure. But looking at it you are going to rely heavily on Kelderman and Rei. Your focus on the smaller nations obviously also shining through, should be interesting to see where this goes for you!

Agreeing with some others, I'd call it a gutsy move to put your faith in two leaders who both turned out to be fluky at times in the last couple of years. But hey, that was even way more the case with Saber I guess, and we all know how it ended...
If both Wilco and Rafael perform according to their skillset, I guess you should be safe - but for a Top 10, both would need to overperform imho. With Gebrezgabihier, you have a great secondary leader for the hills, whereas Raileanu can on one hand be a great dom on any uphill terrain, or go for KoMs / stage wins on his own.
Afewerki and El Sabbahi should be great sprinters for stage races, with the former potentially being a contender for classics as well. You probably can't expect any Saber-like magic from them, but they're solid to say the least.
I don't know what to think of Blythe, though. His cobbles stat is obviously still top-notch, but his backups... I guess cobbles is still the terrain with the least competition, so he should still score some decent points for a 90k rider - at least there's only very little risk involved with this wage.
You'll probably lose quite some points because of your lack of TTers, though, given that there are quite some events against the clock in the HC bands. Obviously no issue for C1, where you can go around them, but having 1 or 2 strong TTers could've made quite a difference.
All in all, it's again a rather top-heavy team, but definitely less than last year. All the best, and have fun in your first PCT year

Former Philips starman Saber replaced by former Philips 'starman' Kelderman. What could go wrong?

Two big leaders, and definitely two somewhat risky ones just based on past performance. But we're using a new PCM version, and we've seen so many times guys be fluky from season to season and version to version even when the engine is the same. Ultimately I put more faith in the stats than anything else, and the stats are there.

Finally some time to reply to all of you the second kid has hit me harder than expected in time management
@Alex definitely hoping the new version favors his set of stats better than the last. I like taking risks, and the return here if it works could be tremendous.
@WJ Survival is the least of my worries if I'm being honest. I think the team is definitely there to score decently. But, I'm ambitious. And signing two ageing leaders, 32&31 respectively, is a go big or go home season once again. Lets find out if last season was a one season wonder or a valid strategy.
@Fabi I think theres definitely a big scoring set of riders compared to only Saber as a major scorer last year. Transfers didn't go a 100% like I wanted, but I had to make choices and you can't be decent at every terrain.
@Abhi destined for greatness
@bbl Stats don't lie, all I need is a smidge of luck.
@SotD Wee Woo, there it is. The first promotion call. Nice going getting me all stressed out now But as my goals will tell in just a minute, not very far off what I am aiming to do in 2023

I went into transfers with some very big goals set out for us. Much like last year, we knew precisely what type of rider(s) we needed to sign to achieve them. This time around, its not sprinter but a Stage Racer and Puncher! Lets see what stupid shit I'm trying to pull this year
Colombini Cycling Goals 2023
Obviously, this isn't a really realistic goal like our top 5 was last year. I don't expect to achieve it, but we simply needed lots of cash to get the caliber of riders needed to propell this team forward. Who knows what happens of course, but this is purely monetary.
Another win goal? Damn right, we're in it to win it babyyyy. Gambling on the fact a big puncher would be available to achieve this, we were lucky to be able to reel in big ol' Wilco to go and get it. Lets hope the new version is kind to me and comes in clutch.
In my country we say, Driemaal is scheepsrecht. And with a third Win goal we just have to achieve one of them. I hope, please PCM Gods? This one is for our boy Wilco again. Second time around an ex Philips leader is going to rule our team goals. Who will it be next year?
You've read that right. I think most of you can see whats happening here. This one is the most realistic yet, with the opposition managable for our old Dutchman. Ofcourse in cycling anything can happen. But if you won't risk it you wont get the bisquit.
The big one. Ever since I joined MG I have been talking about winning the people's GT. This was our OR goal, with Maroc the other option. It all depended on how good our stage racer would be. And with arguable one of the best Climbing/TT stageracer of the PCT it should be something we should try and achieve at the least. Five goals, Five wins, 5/5 EZ. (Don't quote me on that.)
So yeah, we maxed out our goals, mostly for the financial gains it would give us. But last season has pumped up my confidence and I released all brakes. This hype train isn't stopping very soon. Untill we hit the inevitable wall of disappointment. Who knows. Anyways, shoutout to Abhi for the post format.

Definitely a go big or go home strategy. Impressive team you put together powered by the ambitious goals.
Wasn't expecting to see the ToA in there but the route really suits Reis. Given all the confirmed and likely contenders going to give it an early nomination for GT of the Year.

Seeing your ToA win goal, I think many other PCT managers are kind of happy to see his his rds used like this.
If it worked out (GT win wise but also point wise) time will tell.
But I really like your ambitious tactic even though it can backfire a lot for next season. |

And I thought my goals were ambitious
I guess ToA should be the most likely one to achieve, but relying on Wilco for the three others is another pretty gutsy move. If you have some of Saber's special drinks left, it could work, though.
And at least I guess I know now where all that money throw and Reis & Kelderman came from

Give me the leader schedules, and I'll tell you if I like your calendar
I'm pretty happy with your mountain races, though, as it means I won't see Reis in many of those I have some ambitions in ToA could make or break your season - I initially thought Reis might be the big favorite, but with some other GC guys known by now, it won't be an easy task - especially given some expected bigger losses in the TTT. And your main rivals won't be easy to beat in the loooong ITT, either...
Also a bit surprised that you spend almost 100k on Blythe, to then pick relatively few (and not necessarily the best suited) races for him. OK, with his really bad backup stats it might not be the worst call, though
Really interested to see the schedules of Kelderman and Reis, but also Raileanu's.
