The cobbled stage was a little less impactful/raced badly even if we gained with Summerhill rising to 11th overall. Its a shame really but in terms of AI, I'm glad he joined the break, even if we should have had a greater chance of winning.
Rodenberg being quiet on the sprints isn't a surprise so it's all down to the last stage, hopefully our contenders will stay up there but who knows?

Shame Leknessund lost a lot of time in the cobble stage. But Malecki is still going strong. Fingers crossed for the final hilly stage.

Amazing result from Kiriakidis! This wasn’t exactly the race where I expected to see his big breakthrough.
Miltiadis with a respectable result too, although given his position before the final stage, he should have done better.

Fantastic result by Kwiat so close to the season finale. The cobble stages was weird, but at least we maintained the chance. One strange thing perhaps, that Havik dosent bothered to sprint.
Thanks for the reports! |

Thank you for another entertainere report!
Good ride by Wisniowski! He really did the perfect GC race on the hills here, just a pity he wasn’t allowed to take advantage of the cobbles.
Cool to see Kwiatkowski win the GC as a former rider, congratulations, jaxika! |

Didn't expect Gerts to be struggling this much in the final stage. In the end, 10th is an improvement on previous editions, but finishing Debesay is far from ideal. At least we finished higher than Duolingo in the KoM rankings
Thanks for the reports!

Nice to see Nareklishvili try something in the break, but it wasn't his day. A shame Ulloa dropped from 24th in GC to 49th, but looking at his salary demands that might be best for the team. Congratulations to jaxika on a great win!
And thank you for all the great reports, Mr. R.

Looking at the top 5 of the GC, id say the new route worked quite nicely - sure, the cobbled stage was a bit weird but overall, i think the new route was an improvement with a nice diversity of riders at the top.
From an evonik pov, the race was a success. Polanc had a strong race and we are happy with his result.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Strong final ride by Malecki and 8th in GC is a good result.
Also pretty special to have seven riders in the GC top 50.
Thanks for the reports redordead!

Abhi and I spent a bunch of time on this race in the offseason so glad that was your impression. We are considering slightly shortening the ITT and making the cobbles harder (maybe red) for next year. Interested in other thoughts.

I'm definitely in favor of that
Now I realize you probably meant the cobbles in the time - trial. I would perhaps leave the time - trial as it is now and look into making the cobbled stage harder.

Nope I meant the cobbles in the cobbled stage. TT we might make a little shorter but would not reduce cobbled sections.

Bad race for us with Per not caring and Bester not able to hang on on the final stage. Great reports though!

Think I'm in favour of Abhi's/UU's proposal, though, it really comes down to what we hope this race shall be. In my mind, it has always been a goal that the race is favouring the cobblers, but also giving allrounders (TT+hills) a chance as well. If that's the goal, then the cobbles stage should arguably made harder indeed.
I guess discussing the placements of the GC stages could be a thing as well, how is it to have both hilly stages first and then the cobblers stage, compared to having the cobble stage in the middle, or even first? I don't have the answers, and I don't know anything about PCM anymore, so I can't really have a feel/opinion on what will work or not. The most important thing, though, I think, is to make it clear what our intentions is for this race. Who should it favour? |

A brilliant week by Cavagna in his specialty race, no complaints whatsoever with that 4th place overall.
Meiler sadly dropped out of the Top 20 losing two minutes more than nearly all of our domestiques, but I'm very happy with our showing here.
Thank you for your reports, redordead!
