Great performance by Saber again. His consistency has really been key here. 5th 3rd and 5th again with two stages left where he should be able to perform aswel. No time gained on the leader, but rising to 6th place is amazing. Can’t forget about Vliegen either, who flies under the radar but followed his leader into the top 10. I hope we can pull off the 3rd stage win by a CT team, but in the end I’d rather have Saber be consistent and finish the GC strong.
Congrats Caja Rural, and thanks for the reporting.

I guess we're all in for Eriksson in GC. Not something I expected going into the race, but he's not an awful cobbler and he overperformed in the prologue, so he's just stuck around to be 7th overall.
I just gotta hope he can survive tomorrow, because we seemingly don't have any other options anymore.

Senni and this race, it's something special. He only needs to survive one more stage and we're happy to go home. But you can already spot the difference the stage order makes, last year with the hill stage after the cobbles, he would probably still have a shot of the GC even if he loses a bit of time on the 2nd cobbled stage.
Congrats Caja Rural!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Shame Stannard couldn't quite stay in touch today (and that he didn't get a gap yesterday) after a great effort on Stage 3 in his first leadership opportunity.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Bewley still going solid/strong. Don't think he can win a sprint against Saber, but definitely possible to hit another stage podium!
Don't get why McCarthy survives cobble stages, but failed to deliver in the hilly stage though. If he somehow survives another cobbles stages in the front group, this would be an unexpected GC result at least though.

A better stage for us all things considered. Mestric had a great performance but just couldn't finish it off. Guldhammer actually making the split on the cobbled stage, as opposed to the hilly stage, helped. Lander is somehow our guy though, and I have no idea what that means if things actually split up tomorrow. Just hoping for the best. If Senni can survive the cobbles, I guess Lander can too.

Brave attempt to protect Haller's GC position was doomed to failure. He is still in the points and might go well in the flat stage.

McCarthy denying his cobbles disadvantage is the weirdest thing seen in a while
Obviously can't complain. Bewley unfortunately missing the crucial 2nd place in the stage, but adding another scoring stage result. Would not count him off for the GC victory, but as said, i don't see him beating Saber or Haller in a sprint.
McCarthy's miracle and Monk moving into the Top-25, cementing the team's classification. Nice stuff!

When Stuyven is your best rider you know something has gone horribly wrong
Apparently all cobblers think they should minimize the loss for Kalaba...

Let's go Luke Rowe! Thanks for a great report, heartbreak there for Tafjord, looked like the Finn had it for a while.
While this race was a win goal for us, 4th in the GC is still great and if I did my math correctly, we're collecting around 200 points if the current GC situation holds.
Gonna be interesting to see if Bewley can mix it tomorrow to take away a great win from Kung!

Lander somehow survived the whole race, so I guess I can't complain too much. Just a really weird one overall. But with depth point we end up doing kind of alright, so okay I guess. Sending Guldhammer wasn't really worth it, but also not a total dud. Maybe Lander can sprint on the final day still.

More and more gaps in the final stage. Lander moves up to 6th, Trentin up to 19, Guldhammer down to 23rd. I think that's a net gain in points, but it's pretty negligible either way. Had some hopes for a Lander win or at least podium there for a second. He was in a good spot and had speed at the end, but it looked like he just left it a little late and got a little boxed in. No big deal.
Did not expect Lander to be our top GC guy here, but this is a race you truly can't predict. I went bold with Guldhammer expecting a similar race to last year, and I got burned in a sense. Luckily bringing a solid sprinter ended up salvaging the race for us. Lander hasn't had too many opportunities to use his skillset effectively enough to justify his OVL and wage in recent years - but he did so here.
Congrats to Crabbe and thanks Ulrich for the detailed reports. Lots of chaos, and you kept track of it flawlessly.

More of a nothing race for us, but expections were low and can't do good in every race. Thanks for the reports

That's as good of a salvage job we could've hoped for given where we were after Stage 3. Still sucks that bad AI on that stage robbed us of a possible double Top 5 or even better! Points wise, I think we did ok for this race, so some of the anger has worn off.
Congrats to Crabbe and thanks for the great reports Ulrich

Disappointing last stage, losing a Top-10 and the team's classification. Kinda fits into this race though, McCarthy surviving all cobbles just to lose it in the flat final stage.
Anyway, still a good race ofc with three riders inside the GC Top-20 and a tied team's classification.. Bewley with some consistent stage scoring, too.
Thanks for the quality reports and congratulations to those who did well!

Thanks Ulrich for the reports.
From our POV obviously an incredible race, didn’t expect that at all.
Definitely the highlight of the season and a great moral booster for the remainder

Well, at least we did something good this stage. Never had any GC hopes so coming away with a stage win is fine after all.
Congrats Laurens! Thanks UU for the reports
