Is Penasa really going to do this?
Congrats to Kraftwerk and thanks for the report LLS

Something must be wrong, 80/79 MO riders (top 10/15 contenders) simply can´t act like this. It´s just beyond my imagination.
Maybe they punctured together with Masnada, a stupid fan throwing his beer bottle on the road? ^^
More seriously, this definitely shouldn't happen, absolutely agree - especially given some of the other riders who finished in the top group... Really sorry for you!

We had the right man in the right break, but Ndayisenga apparently had a terrible day. To end up 4 minutes behind his stage-winning companions is rough. And all the while, our rivals for the Top 10 score good points. Unfortunate. Hopefully we can join the break with a capable rider again tomorrow (looking at you, Eyob), maybe make something of this race after all.
Thanks for the very nice reports so far!

That was worse than I imagined it would be

Olivier has woken up at least going up to a more decent GC position. Sad though that due to breakaways his scoring is rather tiny and also 3-4 spots too far below still due to this weird time loss on the first uphill stage...
As Haig is scoring more than him, relegation is difficult to avoid. He really should step up another bit and also going for a stage win or so. |

That went from bad to worse. Positive: Ngandamba attacking and being in the breakaway. Negative: Galta loosing more time and even moving the wrong way in the GC. |

Guldhammer very satisfied to consolidate his 15th place. I wish I could say the same.

Hated that we gave up on the stage win so easily. Especially as we needed it for the points classification too. But i wont complain about that as we at least defend the gc nicely.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Ndayisenga again in the right group but not strong enough. Up to 19th in the GC is fine, but with hardly any stage points and nothing from the KoM, this ends up as a fairly underwhelming race. Considering the squad we have for races like these, we can't expect too much, in fairness. Maybe Perera gets us a final highlight tomorrow.
Once again, thanks for the report!

Catching up with Tatarinov's surprise breakaway win on stage 6, makes up for Zabel being dropped off too early in S5.
Great team performance on S7 Arndt into the top 10 GC backed up by Boily and Nerz in top 20 GC. Gives Kraftwerk a nice lead in Teams which would be a great result if we can hang on to it after the next stage.
Thanks for the great reports LLS.

Well, we probably just aren't smart enough for PCT ^^
In theory, it's great to have 3 guys in the breakaway, but my experience is that PCM doesn't handle that well. At least when I reported some races (with PCM18), the strongest rider(s) just hang on at the end of the group, and then often missed out on the decisive moves. I guess that's what happened with Masnada, as he wasn't among the leading 4 - but suddenly re-appeared to lead the chasing group battling for 2nd.
Latour was out of reach anyway, but I'm pretty sure that Masnada would have fought for KoM points and would have been in a better position for the podium fight had he been alone in that group ^^
So, we definitely won't take any GC points from here, and leaving with just a couple of decent stage results is way below the worst case scenario I imagined. The only hope would be for Habtom to get a stage win and a decent position in the points standings, but I definitely can't expect that.
Congrats to beagle on the stage win; but obviously Latour should have been in the GC Top10-15, given some of the names that are up there. And congrats to Evonik on a pretty dominant GC win, although the stage results weren't as good as you were hoping for.
Finally, massive race by Penasa, definitely didn't see that coming. That could very well be enough to avoid relegation, and Kelderman should seal the deal in Emelia.
Carrefour with pretty smart racing in the end, too (at least 10x smarter than we were), getting some really decent GC positions along with good stage results and 2nd in KoM! And who knows, maybe Hayakawa could add a stage win tomorrow?

Really frustrating stage for us, Areruya rolling the dice as he often does and can't fault him for that but really surprised it turned into him losing a fair bit of time, should have advanced up the order but now holding onto Top 10 could be hard. Glad to see Penasa still on it though.

Thanks god, we won't leave empty-handed. Latour even broke into Top50
Would be nice if Guerao grabs some more points in last stage.

Ayyee, a single point from Perera Not a great points haul by any stretch for us here, but maybe still enough to keep us in the Top 10.
Congrats to knockout, nice win by Lopez. Godoy should have confirmed EA in PT now, I think. And what an effort by Penasa for Philips in the relegation battle. Big, big points.
Thank you for the really nice reports throughout, LLS!

Nice race by Preidler, gave us what we awaited from hím. Maybe Petit was a little dissapointment.
Congrats for Lopez and thanks for the reports! |

AKA with another top 5, finishes second on points. Went a little early today, but overall a great way to end his amazing season. He's the only guy who didn't stop trying after May for us. Finally broke out in his 8th season. Love it.
15th was horrendous by Guldhammer. Can't regret anything here though. Obviously, our top 5 goal here didn't work out. But we needed a PTHC goal, and this race suited him to a T. It was perfect. He just failed. I can't predict him losing 6 minutes to worse climbers on a mountain stage. It just happened. Hopefully we're still in the top 15 of the standings.
Congrats to Evonik, and thanks for the great reports LLS!
