Let`s just hope De Bie goes crazy on the hill stage and trying to gain back as much time as possible.
So far his attacks weren`t too productive, but it would be a good time to change this. |

A couple of teams doing one hell of a job here. Let's see how much they can keep things together for themselves in the remaning stages.
For us, this is just "Gung Ho" from here on. Koretzky being our best rider barely inside the top 70 isn't that thrilling, but who knows if he can cause some havoc on the hilly stage, to take a stagewin and claw back 3-4 minutes to atleast take some GC points.
Nizzolo with 2 remaining chances here before leaving to Maroc. If he can't put something together he'll be the first guy out the door at the end of the season.

What a sensational race this is looking to be. Congratulations especially to both Generali and Puma, so far! |

Decent TT for us. Good to have two riders in the top 10 and hopefully it will stay like that all the way through. Not sure what to expect from the hilly stage after the other main stages we've seen so far. Oliveira seems to be flying.

The entire top 7 is just 3 different teams

If you have no sprinter, join the breaks...in especially when direct relegation rivals are in there and score easy points this way.
Perfect opportunity here for riders like Van der Poel to win or score from a break.
Opportunity missed. Now the hill stage MUST go strongly in favour of De Bie. The team support is given and he should be one of the strongest. |

Not much to say about the stage for us. Happy to see eBuddy getting a stage win after struggling so far in this race.

When the one day without a breakaway appearance is the breakaway winning day.. Hate it

Good job Teunissen to go with the right break. Shame he played leadout instead of contesting the win though.

That's even one better from the breakaway! Happy with that performance from Castrillo, making a lot from a difficult position for the whole team here. We need to continue, though, hopefully we can send Sosa out in front on the hilly stage. |

Bewley's really not having a good time here, that's a surprise.
Another very attentive stage from our unlikely GC trio Cavagna, Weinstein and Ganna up there in the Top 30, I hope that bodes well for the decisive stage 7 coming up now.
Positioning will be crucial there to avoid the expected splits before the final hill considering they won't make it there on stats alone, except for Cavagna maybe.
I remember a TdF stage not too dissimilar that saw him claim the white jersey with a great ride, and while the big puncheurs right behind in the GC will be nearly impossible to contain, I hope that memory can help him overperform here one last time this season.
The other two just need to smartly limit their losses as anything they'll gain from this race will be a surprise already.

At least Hsu has some good sprinting legs, that's really the only positive thing about this race so far for my team. |

A stage win does sweeten the situation, but I'd rather had Gerts fighting for the overall podium.
Ariesen is turning into quite the stage hunter though.

Arashiro lost the KOM and will likely lose the Points tomorrow unless another breakaway wins. Serry got 2nd on the stage which is helpful though. This race has been a lot better than I hoped.

Nice KoM run by Hofland.
Some of our riders underperformed in this stage, but still the GC is actually looking ok to me.

Rémi fucking Cavagna!
In between his time in white at the TdF and this podium spot (barring disaster), what a breakout season from my new favorite allround gem.
And I got all that for just 50k!
Wisniowski, De Bie, Van Garderen, Ponzi and Bewley all earn at least 10 times as much and couldn't beat him here.
I do feel for their managers though, certainly they didn't make the most out of the race.
I would very much like to protect Ganna and Weinstein from the criticism that the report hinted at there at the end, their performances on the day would've easily been considered good enough from a neutral point of view if they had started the day in the 50th-80th GC range that their stats suggest they should be in at such a race.
Only their incredible overperformances in the first six stages allowed for them to be singled out like that due to their prominence in the GC, and 13th and 22nd overall is still absolutely amazing and comes entirely unexpected!
Between the three, a combined 160k wage is en route to score 235 GC points in one of the most diverse and thus challenging races!
No way I could ever fault any of them for losing an expected amount of time once along the way.

Too bad Koretzky couldn’t fight for the win rather than 3rd, still I’ll take those few Stage points. Bigger gaps would have been appreciated too, so Koretzky could land more than 10 points from the GC, but he seems in good shape.
One last time for Nizzolo to show just how crap he is, and then finally the race is over.

Great race for me to watch my loanees succeeding at the highest level.
Cosnefroy with a great race and unlucky to lose the time he did on the final stage but 10th in the GC and 2nd in the U25 is a very impressive performance.
Castrillo & Gaudu both very active in the breakaways and getting some top 10 stage results from it.
