Afraid I can't help you with Bonifazio, but there are plenty of other interesting names potentially available there - may even leave you the cap space you'd need to keep him? |

jph - I need to lose 100K wages, so Bonifazio would be easiest. Other options are possible as well, but this would be easiest.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

LPU Team Presentation
Welcome to Sporza Live, where we'll be covering the team presentation of Lierse SK - Pizza Ullo Pro Cycling Team. We'll be getting you live updates throughout the event.
LPU Manager: "F*ck it, we're promoting"
A bold and somewhat shocking opening statement from the manager. We're not sure where this press conference is going.
"We didn't have the best transfers, but it will do!"
The manager expressed his regret in Aleotti and Senni, claiming they took the least bad deal to get out of the salary cap problems. There was no mention of the disgraced sprinter Bonifazio.
We'll be competitive in every race we start in!
Despite losing two key riders, the teams hopes the increased domestique support will make the team stronger on all terrains. We're moving on to the questions.
No lack of confidence this year.
When asked about his opening statement, the manager declares he's tired of the politicaly correct humble answers. Promotion is the goal this year.
Freedom of the press at stake here today?
An NOS reporter, somewhat foolishly, asked a question about Bonifazio. He was escorted out of the room. We're praying for a swift recovery.
Oomen and Novak to carry the team.
The manager expects Oomen and Novak will have great success in the mountains, claiming "that Rwandanesian can't be everywhere at once". We're getting more and more unconfortable here.
Training Gamper and De Plus was essential.
When asked about the training, the manager focused on how these two riders improving was the key to promotion. He didn't explain how though.
New Italian talents important for the sponsor.
The signing of 4 young Italians was very important to the sponsor. Adding Bagioli was also great for the Italian focus of the team. The Italian impact on the team is growing stronger.
New Bonifazio Question???
Someone did it again. The room is being cleared as it is becoming very violent in here. Send he

Despite having an excellent scoring season with many wins, there were some key moments when unexaplainable things happened. In those about 5 moments, our promotion chances took a hit that took a while to recover. Each time we were back in the race, we had another one of these moments. The last straw was the Chrono d'Arenberg where local vandals had taken away some cobblestones.
In the rankings we only finished 9th because of these shenanigans, despite scoring more points and wins than ever before. With management disappointed in this, a policy change is in order for next season. Promotion will no longer be a goal. Instead, we will focus even more on developping young riders while maintaining out status as a solid PCT Team.
This policy change will be expressed in our upcoming roster announcement for the transfer season.

A greater development focus for a Belgian team?! Can I sniff a 1>3 loan into the CT division as a need in the future?
Duvel is very eager to host Belgian (or indeed any nationality) talents in the Ardennes, and see the domestic option as one where young Belgians might not get as homesick...

I really thought that this could be the year where you finally get promotion. Oomen was awesome - except in a few (decisive) stages - and really was the leader you needed. But a rider like Novak not delivering a single win and so few points is really disappointing - can't really see why given his great skillset. Looking at Higuita, I think that De Plus could also have done a better job than he ended up doing. And yeah, then there was that Arenberg disappointment - although Gamper overall still delivered pretty good points. Bonifazio had his bright moments - but I guess he still had too many Bonifazio moments, too.
Looking forward to see that new strategy implemented - and I'm sure promotion will eventually be on the table again - why not promoting when no-one expects it?

After your last post, I was hoping that Gamper could come back this year - looks like he won't, sadly
We might be in touch for your triple exclamation mark, given that I feel like I still need some red digit guys, but not sure he fits our philosophy. Or why not your newly maxed climber who looks quite a lot like GT specialist Smith? We'll see...

Certainly 1 of our former talents that we have an eye on so you may expect a message depending on how transfers are going. Otherwise looks like it's going to be a busy period for you!

Looking like a busy transfers at pizza hq. The biggest storyline of transfers once again is if Bonifazio will finally pack his bags and leave - and who will replace him if that happens of course

Transfer season recap
Due to some budget changes after our sponsor heard we wouldn't aim for promotion anymore, we had to let some people go. This includes Domen Novak and Nicola Bagioli in a deal where we got Aaron Van Poucke and Joel Suter. We would like to thank Domen and Nicola for their time on the team, but last year wasn't the best for either of them so we move on to some younger riders.
A second deal saw us lose Wout Van Aert and gain Fabio Van Den Bossche, a simple choice for youth. After that, we really wanted to do another trade but the right opportunity never came up, so we used the remaining money to send Patrick Gamper on a training camp.
In the mean time, Maxim Van Gils, Alessandro Covi and Victor Potocki all finished their starting years and reached their full potential, while a few other youngsters also improved.
So are we stronger or weaker compared to last year then? Losing Domen Novak is a big loss of course, but with Van Gils and Van Poucke we have two riders who can cover that loss. The training of our youngsters made the team better in depth. In the cobbles department, Gamper has become stronger while the competition has become weaker.
We also still have Sam Oomen, who can score really big. On the other hand, we also still have Nicollo Bonifazio, so there's that. On the hills, it might also be another tough year for Laurens De Plus as the competition here seems tougher than ever.
Expectations: Top 10 and win a few prestigious races
