A shame that Kalaba missed out that often so far. Roman looking good though.

It sure was beatiful seeing Hampus take the win riding in Volvos jersey
Decent from Halvorsen with 2nd on that next stage aswell!
And now working together to get Halvorsen a 4th place Surely something to build on in the future for a certain Norwegian team
Very messy stage finish there! Felt like it was one of those where you need the right lottery ticket to win, and congratulations to Zalgiris for finding it! |

Zalgiris are having a good day
Good breakaway ride from Bokeloh, probably the first time we've seen him all season. Cherkasov with a carbon copy result.

No idea what happened to Cullaigh here. Flat tire? Can't find any sensible explanation for him being dead last in the peloton...
Well, on to the more interesting stages now.

Time for Padun to make up some ground, not lose too much in the TT and then see where we end up... Knowing this game though Gidich will end up with a silly +5 on the mountain stages, netting him 80MO or something...

Pretty meh from Areruya, a few seconds lost via bonuses which isn't great but not awful either, could have done better. Good to see us controlling pace though, and Higuita gaining himself the KoM jersey is nice even if I doubt he will try too hard to defend it.
However the African hype train has left the station now with Aidan in yellow and with the stage win, Areruya ready to pounce, and Schleck on top form not losing time here!

Pity that we lost the KoM lead, but the team keeps being aggressive. That's good. Evans already losing big minutes, so he should try to be in breakaways, when we hit the real mountains. Seems like he already tries.

Awesome teamwork, Festina-insisted really working well together using their multiple options well. Very happy with Kalabas work after the team did well supporting him on the sprint stages; Roman in the bunch being attentive while Aidan uses his the spotlight on other riders to break free and take a famous win!

Pogi not losing any time is good to see. 10th currently is about where we want to be, so let's see if we can stay there

Great job so far from Cherkasov to be so high in the GC still. Would've been good if Inkelaar didn't lose time but he's not really strong on the hills, so it wasn't a surprise.

Out of all the guys to try to send in the break, we try with Forsby, who is basically useless. Ehh, no matter.
I guess I expected Gregaard to lose time today, but I was surprised Foss was actually worse. I hope they are active and aggressive in the mountains.

A pity Foss lost time there, especially as the TT is now next. He could have been in a very nice GC position after the TT without that timeloss. We'll put that in the learning experience basket as he definitely hopes to come back stronger next year
Fingers crossed he'll try to join the breakaway fun on the later stages. |

Fine work by Powless, team has had him well positioned in the sprint stages and he rode sensibly to stay in the first group today and set himself up for a shot at yellow tomorrow.
Not sure how much credit the rest of the team deserves today as he seemed pretty isolated for much of the race but I am sure they all contributed what they could.

Nice to see us getting in the break and getting some screen time, maybe Mano can have another attack to get some more KOM points another day, but we are mainly here for experience and for the youngsters to enjoy themselves.
