MARKO KUMP! It's crazy how he, for most of the season, didn't completely live up to the expectations, but in the biggest race of the season he shines brighter than everybody else. What a performance by the Arrow from Dolenjska! Also great delivery by a rather strong Team Slovenia, which we are especially proud to have made this victory possible.
Also I want to hand out a big thank you to Marcovdw for the awesome race coverage. You've been a stellar reporter and driving force of the man-game, and excelled in this race which has to be leading the contention for the Report of the Year surely.
Thanks for all the kind words and gratulations of you guys. This, after back-to-back promotions and being competitive in PT with an all-Slovenian-leader team, is one of the big achievements for me in MG. Only for this moment already, all training money invested into Kump, which was a subjective decision and in no way the objectively best way to spend it (sacrificing great PpW riders for it), paid off brilliantly. Thank you for this moment!
Brilliant win, even besting Bewley in a head to head-sprint. That's quite something
Really hoped for the RR to be just as aggressive AI wise as the U23 and the B race. It wasn't, but it was still a tense race, as there was the feeling anything could happend well inside the final lap.
That was an excellent way to cap off the season. Congratulations Croatia, what a win for Kump! To beat Bewley and Van Staeyen on the last stretch takes something special! Very well deserved after a difficult season for Kump in most aspects.
Very please with Costa's effort too for Portugal. The race proved to be 7 kilometers too long, but it was a hell of a ride from the break.
