Tomorrow's stage, imo can go both ways.. either awesome stage (solely because there are narrow roads, risk of crashes (isn't awesome but creates drama, which is what I mean)) or absolute bore fest, cause it will end in a sprint, we only need to know if sprinters will be there (which is likely) or ones like Valverde or Alap will fight it out
Guess it was a bore fest The finish was quite good, but other than that I expected more, there's so much quality in here.. Anyway my thoughts were right and Sagan won, sprinters made it through
Colbrelli seemed really effortless going up those 6% in the final. Could he even be a theme for tomorrow?
I don't agree that Alaphilippe attacking for 3 seconds was a bad idea btw. He was tiring out Greg van Avermaet for the final, and also moved 1 second closer - so when Gilbert got 3rd in the sprint he also moved 2 seconds closer.
So at this point both are within striking distance - even more so than before, while also moving away from Geraint Thomas who is also a threat at some point.
I believe Alaphilippe have a great shot at taking yellow tomorrow, especially if Gilbert pushes for bonus seconds, which is positioned at the top of Saint Mayeux just 13km from the line. They really have a potent double-header tomorrow, being just 3 and 6 seconds away.
I wonder if Tejay van Garderen will react at some point if Alaphilippe goes for bonus seconds again tomorrow. Tejay can take the jersey if he wins that bonus sprint...
Tomorrow I guess this will be the outcome:
1. Alejandro Valverde
2. Julian Alaphillippe
3. Dan Martin
4. Greg van Avermaet
5. Peter Sagan
And in the remaining top 10 I guess in some way or another:
Philippe Gilbert, Chris Froome, Jelle Vanendert, Richie Porte and Egan Bernal.
