Rujano is 12th in the GC. You can win time. |

Do we really suck that much against the clock? |

Good stage for us. I'd like to have won, but anything is better than the last stage.
Telkom looks strong after this one. The first mountain stage looks interesting!

Damn, things just got interesting. Augustyn in the lead and Ratiy/Eastman quite a way back. Russom dangling in the top 10. For sure, it'll be interesting to see how the first mountain stage unfolds.
Obviously we're very chuffed to win the TTT! It would just be nice if Hoffman could start performing in the sprints...

Kononenko is going well, trying to reach a top 10 once again. Topchanyuk decent enough too today, and Nitu in a break is always good

Wow! What a stage! And how strong is Augustyn?! Holy hell, I didn't see that one coming. I thought it was going to be disaster when Eastman was pacing so early on in the climb, but things are looking great.
Only the first mountain stage though, and I don't expect this to continue. Nonetheless, what an interesting tour so far.

I'm trying to decide if it's a good thing for us that we're just in the first week of the Tour.
Telkom's strength in the mountains is overwhelming, it's going to take something extraordinary to beat them. Pozzo and Rujano look fit as well and Roglic just doesn't want to break either. The only good nes for us is that Behrane is on par with Reis.
Great pace so far, Tamijo! Also, congrats, maxime!

Two men among top 10 so far and I didn't even dream of 1 in top 10. This is such a cool race to be part of, thank you for the fantastic reporting Tamijo! |

Take notes boys, mountains depth is actually useful if it's overwhelmingly superior to any other

The reporter was caught behind a nasty crach in the peloton today, so the report will be delayed, if I am not getting too drunk sitting stuck in one of the team cars, it will be up later tonight.

Hey no worries! Not everyone has the balls to report a GT, let alone do so with just 1 race experience

You're actually so drunk that the race report was posted in the discussion forum?
But yet again brilliant stuff Tamijo. I like how detailed the sprints are!
Sutton up there, but shows his weaknesses. |

Really great racing by pozzovivo, worried that something might happen and he'll fall out of contention though
also really surprised by berhane's issues but not too saddened by it of course |

Good to see Van Heerden being able to win at least sometimes for Eritel. He is 82 sprint in the end and should have some good shots here. A big screwed up season for the whole team already as none of their top riders really deliver consistently. Not even Impey, who definitely should stat wise.
Huge down for Aeropostal in that stage. Granjel Cabrera had to lose a stage once this race, but Rujano being 5min down...sucks for their relegation fight clearly as it could have looked decent with Rujano making a 1-5 here in the GC. Now hope that no injury and he can gain back in all those mountains. Might also lead to a ~10th in GC with no injury and KoM and 1-2 stages, which would be as good I guess point wise. |

Cheers - thanks for fixing my hiccup - was stuck behind that crash too long for my own good.

Big win by Eritel. 2 good stages in a row and possible Berhane top favourite again if he remains that strong in the other mountain stages.
In-n-Out duo very strong as well and while the gap to the "no relegation area" is very big, they might still have a late chance if this continues.
Reis doing okay, but nothing too special and Telkom did exactly, what I feared...all in on Augustyn and hence losing Eastman in the GC...Ratiy even their number 2 now with Russom also doing good. Not what the team needs when they want to promote of course. This way losing way too many spots in next stages and then coming out with nothing here.
Rujano did what was needed. Showing he is not injured. Back in GC fight! Top5 still possible despite the 5min loss. Good for Miguel.
Thanks for the report. Enjoyed the read. |

This race is going bezerk! Aeropostal with an extremely unlucky start of week 2, losing their first sprint and Rujano to that crash. Still plenty of flat stages and the top5 in range for the venezuelan, so nothing's lost.
Great win by Van Heerden. Coutinho with the right wheel, but the wrong legs unfortunately. Congrats SN!
And congrats SN again. Behrane finally delivering his might. Reis is improving, but I'm afraid he's lacking support, Baltazar hasn't been up to the task.
Telkom just completely crumbled on that climb! Started realy strong again, but as said by roturn, they really seem to have laid all their eggs onthe wrong basket!
